Soft-Top Lamborghini Reventon Images Leaked

Outrageous Lambo to join the Frankfurt supercar party

We're pleased to note that neither global recession nor environmental hand-wringing appear to be upsetting the supercar applecart at the Frankfurt show next week. We're already fired up for the world debuts of the Ferrari 458 Italia and the Mercedes SLS AMG, not to mention the new Porsche 911 Turbo/SC/GT3s or the Audi R8 Spyder Now we hear that Lamborghini is joining the party with a soft-top version of the Reventon mega-car.

These leaked images show that the Reventon roadster is much more in the traditionally outrageous supercar mould than its showmates from McLaren and Mercedes, however. Like the coupe version of the Reventon, which was revealed at the same motor show in 2007, the angular carbon fibre body panels of Lamborghini's latest soft-top are inspired by fighter aircraft, while the interior is treated to lashings of carbon fibre and Alcantara.

Power comes from the same glorious 641bhp 487lb ft V12 that propels the 'normal' Murcielago on which the Reventon is based, so expect the Reventon to get to 60mph in 3.4sec on the way to a 211mph top speed.

The Reventon might be dramatic-looking, but it won't be cheap. If you want to get your hands on one of the 20 or so slated to be built, you will most likely have to chuck more than £1 million in Lamborghini's direction.

That car looks so harsh that it (the Mercialago) must be up for replacement soon. Reminds me of the Countach Anniversay model that was done at the end. (think it was the 25th year anniversay)

There is no word I can think of to describe this car. That as awesome as supercars get.

Yes, Lamborghini have a long tradition of starting with a clean, handsome shape and gradually sticking crap to it over the lifetime of the model.

Wonder how put out the buyers of the original 'limited to 20 cars' Reventon will be?

Styling is a bit too aggressive I think; possibly an ex Lockheed Martin designer with his faithful straight edged ruler?

Looks beautiful! Wait no, that's not it - uhh exciting! smile

This is why you get the Italians to design your supercars. They do beauty and madness equally well!

All it needs is a nice purple Decepticon badge on the bonnet.

It's nice but the interior is no different from the LP Murcie's which is a bit absurd given the £1M asking price!

Is it just me or does the rear 3/4 picture make it look a bit.. chubby? I mean I love the front and profile view of the car.. but that picture of its rear really doesn't look as nice..

Wouldn't say no though!

Ridiculously over-priced, not as quick as many cars half or even a quarter of the price, virtually the same as a Murcie....

Oh who cares it's amazing! Lambo make cars like no one else simply beautiful.

Love it all except for the steering wheel, Picky I know, but it reminds me of the one from my sisters ford Ka. Not a bad wheel but does it really belong on a lambo??? especially a lambo that looks like that.
