SLR Speedster Video

Now footage of new SLR Speedster appears...

Here's a 'spy' video of the SLR Speedster. Hats off to the guy who filmed it from ten different angles with a bit of random camera shake. This is almost too good...

Definitely!

Camera works seems far too good.

Hmm, im not sure. I workin Woking and drive past the Mclaren HQ every day on my way to work. You do occasionally see trailers very similar to the one they were packing it into, but whether or not the ones ive seen have contained the same kind of 'being' i cabn't be sure.

All i can say is, thats a little too much spy attention for one drive. Judging by the speed at which that car is travelling, the photographer pans a little too clearly for someone who would normally be using your every day capture-what-you-can video camera...

I agree the video is 'fake'...but why would you? If the below article is to be believed, there are only going to be 75 of this vehicle made and I am guessing those with enough money to grab one will be unlikely swayed by some toss on YouTube.

Is it all about 'brand awareness'?

I was actually going to say why does that sound a bit sh!t in comparision to the standard one?

No side exit exhausts that I can see?

Looks like its taken at the Qinetiq's test track at Chobham. They are super sensitive to cameras as secret testing goes on there. The shot from the bridge would be in full view of the watch tower.

SLR convertible with the screen and roof off?

Hardly a big change... still nice.

Don't like it at all.
reminds me of when we clipped bits of cardboard to our bikes with clothes pegs as a kid, to ping off the spokes...

It's even funnier when you take a 'wrong' turn and end up on the test track..

Bloody hell, my bike never sounded like that!wink
Did you have a Supercharged V8 clothes peg to put in your spokes!? hehe
I think it's a fantastic noise, sounds just like a Spitfire (although the Germans said it sounds like an Me109) or at least like an aero engine! cloud9

The guy who shot this has been watching far too many drama-documentaries if you ask me...

Yes, thats on the test track at Chobham. They test the customer SLR's there daily, 2 a day in fact... every day. (only the convertable now though) Popped over there on weds and they were bombing up and down in one.

No MOD stuff still goes on there anymore. And from the angles you would need to have been given access to the test track to take those shots. I would say its an official 'leak'

I will pop over there tommorow and ask the chap who runs the track what the story is.

You'll need more than a plan. Specific Public Liability insurance is required to rent the facilities.
