RE: Pic of the Week: Lexus LF-A
Friday 13th January 2012
The Autosport and PistonHeads shows at the NEC are gearing up for the weekend, and sitting on our very own PH stand is a humble collection of supercars, including Ferrari 458, a Nissan GT-R, a Jaguar XKR-S... and one of these.
Pic of the Week: Lexus LF-A
To celebrate the fact we have one on our show stand, we thought we'd offer you a pretty picture of one...
Okay, so 'our' LF-A is blue and doesn't enjoy the Nurburgring package. And nor can we supply a pretty sunset back drop. But we do have some lovely cars on the stand, plus a few computers where you can access the PH forums and tell everybody all about how lovely our stand is. Or you could just browse the classifieds.
Either way, if you're planning to head down Birmingham way this weekend do come and say hello!

Am I the only one that thinks they look a bit rubbish compared to other super/hypercars?
I think their looks relay the message of 'what they are about' quite well. In that they are a Japanese supercar, that may lack a bit of 'soul', but certainly make up for it in technical precision and wizardry. Kinda similar to the GT-R.(IMO)
Sat in it at one of the breakfasts and the chap from Lexus postively beamed when he asked whether I knew much about Lexus and I responded by pulling out my car key from my pocket (with the Lexus symbol on it) - "This is my 4th LS400". :-)
Stunning stunning stunning cars but I think they are very colour subjective. That strange orange colour does not suit it (as at Geneva Motor Show 2011) but they look amazing in white and that dark gunmetal grey.
For the brand, I think it is a brilliant move and will (hopefully) start to move the perception of (Lexus = tarted up Toyota) which seems to be a common reaction.
I would buy one in a second but for the small matter of being quite a bit short on the price.
