I went shopping the other day for some shoes and had to go into Chav city... a sports shop!

However, i'm bloody glad i did... came away with a pair of these:

How freaking good are they to drive in?? Had lots of people tell me Puma shoes are good to drive in, but these just blew me away. So much more feel than my normal VANS/Etnies skate shoes.

Well recommended.

You've been driving too many flappy paddle F-cars!

I wear the strongest soled footwear I can find when driving mine...due to the heavy clutch.

My foot-wear of choice when driving is by Gucci. I do not allow gym shoes in the Porsche.

Aiii! Well-blinging innit. I is mostly wearing anyfing wot is cheap from Wynsors World of Whank. Sorry, Shoes.
However in me Esprit I can't wear anything too chunky (unless by Elizabeth Duke at Argos) 'cos the pedals is closer-together than two dykes in a prison cell.
The number of times I have gone for the brake, only to give the Dellortos a bootful, I has forgotted.
So I mostly wear Croft Originals, genuine Nubuck over Man-Made Sole, £12 in the sale.

Bo, fellow Wiggas.

WHAT?? Sixty-five bar for a telly? Are you mad? I'd want a Pentium 4 PC, Linn separates hifi and a new washing machine for that...

Rico/PWellsie, I've never tried any of these 'fashion' imitations of racing boots, but I've always wondered how comfy they'd be.

I've been hooning around race tracks and up hill climbs, driving in a pair of the proper (i.e Nomex, fireproof, FIA approved) Diadora's for a few years. For driving, they are the dog's, but as soon as you're out of the car, you can feel every pebble and bump.

Surely these things can't be much better?

Got some of these a couple of weeks ago.

Have to say Digga, the problems you get with normal racing boots are as you describe. These however, are mega comfy to walk, run or whatever, in.

Excellent to drive 'at pace' too, making heel & toeing very, very easy.

Sounds like it could almost be time for another of my extremely infrequent trips into town.

I'm so very anti-buying things these days (unless it's stuff to feed the dog with, or bolt onto the Griff) though, that I doubt I'll bother. I have developed this deep seated hatred of being 'marketed at' or 'sold to', and convinced myself that anything endorsed in ads by nice shiny people with lifestyles is not for me.

How about a nice pair of overshoes for those 'out of car' moments?

Out of car moments? Is that when you appear to be hovering over the car, looking down on it, as you're driving?

Luckily, I had the benefit of receiving these as a birthday gift.

Still quite good for driving.
Better than my Nikes anyway

I wouldn't even want to attempt it really.

Those Nikes are better than my size 10, steel toe caps, which I once, accidentally ended up having to drive the Griff in.
