Shame. Hope it finds a sympathetic buyer.

A microcosm of the financial epidemic. Less companies, less choice, transfer of power and market share to the big boys - this is exactly why the elites want the perpetuation of the economic crisis.

shame...hope they find a good buyer, the car is worth it!!
maybe VW can buy them (when they have the money since they also bought Porsche complete)
the Artega uses some parts of VW like the nice 3.6L engine... come one VW buy Artega too.

Shame. I've always liked the look of them, but it did seem to be a Cayman rival at a price that was nearer the 997. VW have plenty of sporty brands in their locker, so they would appear an unlikely buyer I would have thought.

They also had the Electric model too. I'd rather have that over a Fisker.

Always a sad day when an small, independent car maker goes out of business.

Lovely Car but toooooo expensive for it's market slot (Lotus take note). New Lotus Exige would have killed it for the UK anyway as having seen the new Exige at Goodwood, i think we all owe Mr Bahr a vote of thanks for getting it to the market before he was let go.

Been saying this would happen for years, it took longer than i expected it would do.
Perhaps artega should have been trying much harder to build a dealer network, actually make some proper attempt to market the car etc.
Cool car but doomed.
As for all the comments about pricing, let me say what i have said soooo many times before on here **You can NOT build a low volume hand crafted car for little money** those days have been and gone and even when they was still here most companies ran at a loss.

Indeed, it cost lots and lots of money, especially when you want a good product. its not like 3 man in a shed making a sports car and every car is a bit different which is not a big problem when you built a handful cars a year but when you want a real line up and try to make a few 100 a year then its completely different... It also was just in the wrong time with the crisis coming etc. hopefully they will find a big company who can back them...they just opened a dealership in Japan or China? I believe...anyway could be a grow market there. https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/artega.de

That's a (predicatable) shame. Nice though it is the level of engineering and quality of sports car from larger maufacturers are making it increasingly hard for buyers to choose a car like this, good though it was, over products from Lotus, Porsche, etc. Artega going into adminsitration only adds fuel to the potential issue of a small manufacturer disappearing once you've spent considerable amounts of money with them.
