S 03 vs Proxies vs F1

F1's are great in both the dry and wet..but, being soft they dont last the longest!

Loved SO2s, hated SO3s. F1s have won every magazine comparison test so this is what I now fit. Great wet and dry. You can feel the softer sidewalls compared with the SO2s. The factory press/demo Sagaris was on F1s. Never knowingly driven on Toyo.

Toyo T1-R seem to be quite popular, quite cheap too.

I went Eagle F1 over the new Toyo.

They're both excellent tyres from what I've heard.

I'm very happy with the F1s I have currently.

Michelin Pilot Sport 2's

I love F1s.

I've had all kinds of tyres on the MR2 and so far, the F1s have been head and shoulders above the rest.

They've easily outlasted the Pilots I had, and offer almost as much grip. When they do let go it's nice and predictable.

I haven't tried Proxies, mind...

F1 definitely better than S-03, haven't tried proxies. Personally i'd go with F1 or P-Zero Rosso.

Not applicable to your car and I've no personal experience for or against this (ok i'm just repeating a rumour ...), but I've heard that the F1s aren't to good on the front of mid and rear engined cars. I'd heard that they only work with more weight on them.

Toyo's first purely on cost. If price no problem then F1's (they are the best but not by much) Toyo's have superb water clearance and boy, do they run warm!!. Running 2 sets of Toyo's just now myself, (apart from Yoko 32ss on Mojo but that's a different scene altogether)

I had F1s on my MX-5, then tried out the T1-Ss. F1s were far superior in terms of grip. However, they both have soft sidewalls that dull steering feel. I changed to Michelin sports on the front (gave me good grip and great feel), and F1s at the rear for mind-blowing grip (and for a 2% added comfort to my backside).

good choice! just for the record there better than the P-Zero Rosso's and Verstein thingys I've had before!
