Designer says public will define car's styling
The day job for WSR
Its designer, Dan Horstman, told us that although the car is heavily influenced by WSR's racing background, it is not just another track day car. The emphasis is on useable fun on and off the race track.
The project is still in its early days but progress on the next chassis iteration is well underway. The two-seater uses a side by side configuration with a mid-mounted engine and gearbox unit driving a combined LSD and reverse assembly.
Bodywork is open top and minimal. According to Horstman, no final decision on the look of the car has been taken although the public may be asked for styling suggestions for the car's final look.
The heavily modified prototype has already run on the public highway. Horstman said that it ran to and from the Le Mans 24 Heures with neither driver discomfort nor ferry ground clearance problems.
Horstman's background is motor racing design and, over the last ten years, he has worked on various sports, touring and road car projects, including the Jaguar XJ220 and the McLaren F1.
Alas, we've no pics or any performance info yet but as soon as we get some, you'll know about it.
