Wash and wax, sir?

That'll be the price of a small car...

Bugatti Veyron: keep it clean
Bugatti Veyron: keep it clean
Paul Dalton, the UK’s leading car detailer, has just launched the world’s most expensive ‘wash and wax’, for owners of super-premium cars including the new £840,000 Bugatti Veyron supercar.

About the detail

  • The Miracle Pinnacle Detail takes 64 hours to complete, over a period of 1-2 weeks
  • It consists of 61 separate stages (excluding the preliminary paint measurement process), inside and outside the car
  • At least four layers of Zymol Royale wax are applied, at 24 hour intervals; Zymol Royale is the world’s most expensive wax (£5,800 RRP) and was named after the famous Bugatti Royale
  • Paul measures the paint before polishing to prevent too much paint being removed in the process
  • No bucket and sponge is used; they are replaced by a warm water pressure washer and 100 per cent cotton towels
  • The shine and protection of a Pinnacle Detail should last up to 6 months
  • Paul has a fully equipped vehicle in the UK, but will travel anywhere; The Pinnacle Detail is available worldwide
  • At £4,800, the 61 stage car detail costs just over £100 more than the UK’s cheapest hatchback, the Perodua Kelisa 1.0EX

About Paul Dalton

Paul worked at a Ford dealership before discovering a passion for detailing cars. He now has an extensive client list and has detailed hundreds of supercars and luxury cars.

“When the Bugatti Veyron was launched, I decided to create the ultimate detail to do it justice,” explains Paul. “Even a normal valet could devalue it, let alone the use of a bucket and sponge. Hence the Pinnacle Detail, the ultimate detail for the ultimate car.”

Judging by his previous work, its worth every penny .... just a shame that I dont have a spare £5k for a clean and wash.... I did manage £3 for the jet wash the other day.... or is that because I am a tightwad?

For the owner of a Bugatti - its pocket money....

I should tell my friend Ron who owns a 1995 Dodge Neon to enlist Pauls service. I was just telling him the other day that he should have his car detailed, it looks like hell, which I guess is how a Neon always looked like, hahaha.

Good value for money I'm sure! Heck, when you've splashed that much on a new car, nearly 5K for a wash and wax is small beer :

You could probably BUY a jet wash for that money! But that's not the point... a jet wash won't make it as shiny as Paul can or remove any paint swirlmarks etc that your Bugatti dealer has inadvertently caused when he washed it pre-delivery 64 hours for 4800 GBP is 75 GBP an hour - less than most main dealers charge for labour and they'll subcontract it out to their YTS trainee on 5 GBP an hour anyway!

try to keep it shiny with this wether and sald onthe roads what a waste of money, only when you selling the car as expensive as the above and put it in the showroom afterwards can be worth?? it...maybe when your very very rich, but even then...

for that money.. given the car could need 2 - 3 washes a year, it would be cheaper to import your own team of busty blonds in bikini's to wash and larther the car topless. bugger the wax, Im thinking babyoil !

If you've got enough money to be able to spend £5k on having your car detailed, then I very much doubt that you're stupid! It's also a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of the cars that it's aimed at.

My girlfriend has actually booked Paul to detail her new Elise when it's delivered next month - at a cost slightly lower than £5k I hasten to add!

It might seem a lot for a "car wash", but if you look closely at the quality of the paintwork on even a brand new car that has just left the showroom, you will almost certainly notice the swirlmarks and poor finish, so having these removed and the paintwork protected by a good quality wax applied by someone as good as Paul is worth paying for IMHO.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to simply respray the entire car every 6 months.

"In for another respray sir? Did you drive through a puddle then?"

FFS!

My point exactly-someone who has earned their cash and can afford it isn't stupid enough to part with it for this. I can understand a once off top quality valet or if you want to enter a car show. But to spend even £500 on a regular basis-Rocks and head springs to mind.

You mean to tell me that Bugatti don't have 1 expert who just might know what they're doing?

I been looking at getting my 1989 E30 BMW Motorsport convertible valeted by Paul for a few months now - the £500+ detail [the only thing stopping me is I'm saving for a house]. My car 17 years old now and is covered in swirl-marks, and if he can get it looking a good as his website says and have the quality last for a long time I reckon its worth it. Paul is the expert, I aint...thus I figure he could get a far better finish? I'd be interested to know of people's experiences with him.

If I could afford a Veyron, 5k aint no big deal so I'd definetly get my car sorted with Paul.

At £4800, the last thing anyone would want to do is use the car and get it dirty.

When its got that much wax on it, I doubt dirt will stick to it. I always found cleaning my dad's audi was far easier than doing the gf's clio, the dirt just fell of off his, and it only had a standard audi valet!

A 'wash and wax' is only worth it's money when it increases the value of the car by minimal the same amount.
I guess with such expensive cars that isn't entirely impossible...
Smart offer from Paul.
