Amuse Nissan GT-R No Joke

Series of upgrades push GT-R's power up to 582hp

Amuse Nissan GT-R
Amuse Nissan GT-R
A Japanese car mag has tested an uprated Nissan R35 GT-R and posted a video on the web.

The GT-R ‘Phantom’ is tuned by Amuse and apparently features unspecified engine upgrades boosting power from 480 to 582hp.

The car also features an aggressive aero package, new exhaust, lowered suspension, Recaro seats and new tyres.

Looks like Nissan’s efforts to stop people tuning the GT-R are working well then...

It was aways going to happen. The legacy of the GT-R is the ability to upgrade and tune it. I think Nissan threw down the gauntlet when they said it wouldnt be able to be tuned. Everyone loves a challenge.

Looks like a good upgrade package smile

With that gearbox and the ability it has to put the power down, there can't be many cars faster.
Any chance to see the GT-R racing in europe in the near future?.

Watched that the other week, quite interesting.

I've kept hearing the stock car power figures are @ wheels anyway (so when Nissan say 480bhp, it's more like 550bhp apparently), so not sure if the Amuse tune is @ wheels or @ flywheel...

Hey ho, sub 1 min at Tsukuba is quick either way, but I'd be interested how fast an RT12 would go round too!

I doubt nissan would be interested as the focus seems to be on the home grown Jap GP races of which this car has been racing for a season or so in a rear wheel drive format, current regs dont allow them to run in most of the european GT races due to the drive train etc.

Nice...

But the name is up there with the Mitsubishi Urban Sandal, the Honda Mysterious Utility Wizard and the Mazda Bongo Friendee Auto Free Top.

Imagine telling someone at a supercar event that you own an Amuse No-Joke? Even if you beat them in a race they'll still be laughing at you.

Expect to see 800-1000 BHP soon.

I like that bodykit, looks mean. Not so sure about the ground clearance though ...

Let's just hope we don't get lambo doors, lexARSE lights, HKS 12" rocketlauncher exhausts and daylight LEDs.... but I know it will happen.

Hopefully the 150k miles gearbox rebuild costs will put off the chavs in a few years :-)

Ps.....If I remember correctly Nissan were also saying that they've installed clever software that will be able to detect mods to the car....and invalidate any warranty. That's the real challenge, getting round that.
Take the ECU clean out before you touch it (as Amuse do), then put your bits on. When you need warranty work, put it all back together. All the ECU will know is that the battery was taken out? Can't see how they can find out.

Are these times for Tsukuba or Bedford if Tsukuba I got a DVD From best motoring where they have a race at Tsukuba with Evos and STI and the Spec C does a 1.04.something just faster than a McLaren F1 Was a Standard car too.

This car is still amazing me the more information I read about it, The car is fast out of the box in standard trim so what we end up with is going to be mind blowing fast. Legend in the making I think.

I think it's become a legend already.
The cornering in that vid, & the way the revs just shoot up almost instantly!
Like the body kit too. Not that it wasn't before, but it's now really become a thing to lust after lick

In case you hadn't noticed, Japanese weirdness is actually considered quite cool these days, taking yourself too seriously is considered uncool.

Turn up in the Amusing Datsun wearing a clownsuit and you'll be the coolest person in town. It would only add to the humiliation of those uber serious Porsche owners when you beat them hehe.

No RT12, but the tuned R35 seems very quick. (it was already nearly 1 second round Bedford's West Circuit than a 997 GT3)

would be more of a fair test if it were same driver, the times show it wasn't, for a bmw m5 beat a bmw m6 and this would just not happen. and a mclaren f1 will be over 2secs up on an m5.... surely?
