To be honest, as long as the Japanese Manufacturers stick to their voluntary 286bhp limit, there will never be a true supercar from Japan.

Not that they're not capable of producing one!

I don't know?

They are capable of turning out 800bhp Skylines etc, but I think it's akin to the German voluntary 155mph limit?

Edited to say that although the manufacturers pay heed to it, the tuners don't!

To be a true supercar, it has to come from the manufacturer. Anyone can give a standard version an extra couple of hundred (or so!) bhp.

I can't understand why the Japanese allow used panty vending machines, yet draw the line at cars with >286bhp?!
