Marotti Trike Gets Fighter Style

Jet fighter provides inspiration for mad three-wheeler

The Marotti is 'a vision which has become a reality', says the press release from the company that accompanies these pictures. Whether it's a reality we want to be part of, we're not quite sure yet, although the idea of a 100bhp, 440kgs tricycle certainly has its merits!

According to the Marotti website, this mad jet fighter-inspired machine could be yours for 24,999 euros, and although the images in the gallery appear to be a prototype they do offered a pre-production specification to help you make your mind up.

"Marotti is a combination of the cutting-edge motorcycle and car technology, which has resulted in the production of a vehicle as dynamic as a motorcycle and, at the same time, as safe and easy to drive as a car," the company says.

The trike is equipped with a 750cc Honda V4 engine placed in a steel frame. "It impels the back wheel with a chain assuring required dynamics of the back axle," it adds, amusingly.

"Its sporty character is intensified by an extremely low center of gravity and aerodynamic shape of the bodywork equipped with additional elements for the air intakes and interior air flows such as a front spoiler, flat floor, and back stabilizers. Power-to-weight ratio amounting to about 4.4 hp/kg assures a good pick-up and very dynamic acceleration, whereas its low weight and sport tires result in achieving high speed while taking a turn.
Fun guaranteed!" Indeed...

Technical data:

* engine and gear box: Honda V4, 750 cm3, 100 hp at 11000 1/min, 6 speed sequential gearbox, electric reverse gear,
* weight: 440 kg,
* length: 3200 mm,
* width: 1800 mm,
* tires: front 255/45R17, back 275/45R17,
* suspension: front - double rocker arm, back - roller rocker arm, shock absorption system fully regulated,
* brakes: disk brakes without brake assist.

Scary! That's the first thing I thought of was well. Leave the body work off, the raw frame looks stacks better.

Could have put something better than a VFR engine in it, im sure they could have got last years R1 engine fairly cheap.
If you want a bike you can get alot more performance than it for alot less.
If you want a car you could probably get something with similar performance for about the same.

Dont really see the point in it but hey at least its diffrent

Article doesn't say:

"Marotti is a combination of the cutting-edge motorcycle and car technology, which has resulted in the production of a vehicle as vulnerable as a motorcycle and, at the same time, able to get stuck in traffic like a car"

They've got the power to weight ratio wrong. For 100 BHP and 440kg it's 227.3 BHP per ton or 0.227 BHP per kilo

Needs to tilt like a Carver. Then you can play at being a fighter pilot.

Oh yes, and guns. Lots of guns. shoot

Couple of sidewinders for middle lane muppets.

Now you're talking smile

It won't be quite as much fun tilting whilst reverse parking.

How does it have the vulnerability of a bike ? Probably the vulnerability of an open top car but I couldn't see myself falling off that (I do ride a bike). I agree it looks cooler without the body and could see myself in something like that, no worse than a 7 and probably easier to get on the road with MSVA instead of IVA.

Put a seat over the engine and some bars to hang onto you could have room for a passenger biggrin

Ugly with the body on, kinda cool without it but I'd still rather have a T-Rex or the like. At least those can seat two, and I believe are more powerful! And that's mighty expensive for a motorbike with the extra weight and complexity of a third wheel. Just buy a second-hand 'Busa or R1 which'll go faster anyway and you'll still have enough left over to buy a decent small car for those days that aren't sunny and beautiful ;P
