Not to sell, selling cars were £95k and still took ages.
Depends whether you are referring to clubsports or comfort specs and whether modded or standard. A standard 997.2 clubsport sold within days at circa £95k last summer with several other buyers chasing the same car, so i think context is required on your comment.

the £95k figure you state is the very same £95k figure I quoted ;-)

If a car sells in days with a queue of buyers fighting for it, its selling price is below the 'market' price. That should be pretty obvious to most normal people.

Of course, the hard question is how far the selling price was below the 'market' price (in so far as there can be a market price when trading volumes are so low).

Some people want to pretend this £60k latest sale is a reset of GT3 market prices and the new normal. But also completely ignore that Mr Rance's car sold for over £80k very recently.

Agreed.

There is a very substantial and understandable reason why a great many people have suddenly and very unexpectedly hit the sort of difficulties that require them to liquidate assets they perhaps never intended to sell. And fast.

er miles on the clock, that's simple, Mr Rance's car was a rare spec in a rare colour and while vastly over priced In the market even pre covid, it only takes one buyer to want a car in that colour and willing to pay and secure it as a life time keeper. again does not make £80k market value either.

the £60k white car price is due to the 64k miles it had on it and a little bit of covid panic.

I would have no issue paying £69k for a 30k miles club sport atm.

It's the reference to taking ages to sell which, in my experience, was wrong if you were referring to standard clubsports.

most cars sat around,I did not see bun fights in 2019 for GT cars.
JZM had 2 mint ones for over 12 months during 2019.
So I will have agree to disagree regarding people waiting in line for them

Were the JZM cars standard clubsports? I remember the two white ones they had, one modded and one comfort. Neither support what you are claiming.
I am not saying there were bun fights, but straight 997.2 clubsports with sensible miles would have been relatively quick to sell at around £95k last summer and wouldn’t have taken ages as you claim.

TBF they were real outliers.

IIRC at least one of those cars was there when I bought mine in late 2017. Wrong spec, wrong price.

In that time, JZM had shifted countless other cars.

Looks as though the white & red 997.2 GT3 RS which JZM had just dropped the price on has sold. Seems some people are having to cash out of their, but there are still plenty (enough) willing to buy.

Still showing on PH Classifieds, but not on their showroom: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

I was mightily tempted... almost relieved it's gone!
FWIW Digga, i thought that 997.2GT3 RS had your name written all over it..Great car and buy for someone at £146K and as good a home for money as any car right now .

Definitely sold.

I spoke to Mrs Digga about it over weekend, she said "no". This was the standard, regular "no", as in "you do it if you want, but don't expect my endorsement", as opposed to "do it and you are sleeping in the shed until I can get a divorce". biggrin

Just give me one signed blank cheque Digga and i'll buy you a nice 7.2RS ..TBT i think i'd prefer the 7.1RS in either the RS Green or even better in orange..
My RS is SORN'ed right now and debating when its socially responsible to go back driving it..I hope some of the trackdays we've booked will still be happening to restore sanity.

Likewise!

As regards track, we've discussed before, I think if I had a more expensive car I'd be a lot more circumspect tracking it. As it is, it really is not something I worry about really. I think I will stick at my car and chuck some more money at it. Have a few ideas...

I would be interested in knowing people’s thoughts on this particular Gen 2, looks a lovely clean low mileage example with Porsche history. As many will be aware it’s been up for sale since the winter on a couple of different sites at a different prices.

Given that Ashgoods seem to have priced there Gen 2 CS at 89k but has 18k more miles where do people think this one sits, it’s a standard sofa seat car with steels and lift being sold privately.

Do people think this car would realistically be of a lower value over the ashgoods club sport?

Today’s value imo is £83k , way too many comforts for sale in .1 and .2.

That may seem cheap but there is a panic on :-)

Gt comforts Are really bad sellers 2nd hand.
Precovid I would have said £89k.

I don't think 997 GT3's with comfort seats are bad sellers 2nd hand, if priced properly.

The trouble is more people would prefer buckets, probably for resale value and will pay more to have them.

I'd happily take a well priced car with comfort seats as it's more useable.

£83-85k - but I am just thinking out loud - IF I was in the market, I'd be waiting for a CS or bucket car. The Guards one at Ashgoods (as brief as it was) made me realise how stubborn some others are, there's a perfect (for me) CS at Rybrook on Autotrader, but it's at least £10k overpriced (again, for me) @ £103,850... Stunning thing! cloud9
