I've got an underdrive pulley on my C2 and also put one on my old Cayman. As it suggests it's just a smaller diameter pulley that runs some of the ancillaries, notably the PS pump, at a lower speed. Theoretically it frees up a handful of HP, but who knows ?
The potential downside is that things run hotter and the steering heavier, but I've not noticed an issue with either of these.

Evening, there's a guy on the Facebook Porsche Owners UK page selling a silver 2001 C4 manual with an engine rebuild by Hartech with the car that's done approx 85k miles (20k since the engine rebuild) for £19k with mk2 GT3 wheels on it - I've no link to the guy but the description indicates a car that's been treasured. We don't see too many Hartech engined cars for sale so I thought it worth a mention
Was just about to post, well I will carry on, a link to this on ebay.

Does read well in the description. Also has centre console delete, mentions some exhaust upgrades and some recent suspension bits replaced and also brake lines and period looking Bluetooth stereo. Ticks more boxes than it doesn't.

If I were looking to buy a 996 like this, I’d swap the wheels out for something that was original for its age & pocket some of the spare change from doing it & it'd look an even better proposition. The sellers location/time of year isn’t helping IMO for some people but those committed will travel for the right car & could get a little beauty thumbup

These door panels are bothering me. I didn't realise you could get plastic door panels on a 996.

Really not an issue in our climate. I've fitted the 3rd rad in my C2 anyway.

When you haven’t driven your 996 for a while and it feels a bit odd to drive….

Holding a straight line on the motorway was hard enough… I did 200 miles on Wednesday in the pouring rain… it felt fairly scary… front end was all over the place. But the number would say it wasn’t dangerous as rear toe was ok.

Feels loads better now… it’s not COG accurate, but then it didn’t cost me four figures. (It actually didn’t cost me three figures either).

Edwin from car throttle has set up a new channel -top dead centre.
First project is a fire damaged 996.1, I’m interested if just for the car, can see some might be turned off if autoalex gets too involved(hopefully it will stay separate-ish from his stuff)
996 content starts in the next episode, not this.

I hope that’s cheaper to fix than it sounds.
Hi Jonny picked car and all good total cost was £307 that was oil feed pipe / coolant pipe / missing bolts etc and labour and VAT (I supplied belt £30 and cover cap £55 2nd hand off eBay) so add this comes in at £392

Probably best you don’t read Hartech’s conclusions on the fitment of a third rad to M96 & 97 engined cars then … :

Thanks, Slippy, interesting reading. I guess I fitted it as a hangover from my 3.7 converted 987 Cayman, which did run very hot, and three is obviously better than two smile

I see Hartech have produced a thermostat to fit between the main and 3rd rad, which sounds like it might be a sensible solution. I will look into it.....

Has anyone seen this?

Summary

He fits Nuneric Shifter Cables but decides to remove them after only a couple of minutes because they were too noisy

That looks stunning, opinions on price?
What he says in the advert is true… you could buy one for less and then end up at his price getting it up to spec.

Looks like a very good car.
Seller used the word Perfect in his description so we need to be assuming it's super sorted. If so the price is fair. However I still believe it's impossible to find one of these truly truly sorted. But the closer you can get the better.

I'm disappointed at the very unimaginative colour scheme. But I guess we can't have everything.

Curious about the underdrive pulley. I've seen the boxa owners club mention this a few times but not seen it much round these parts. Anyone here have experience of this mod?
Noticed it last autumn with the same seller . Was around 17.5 grand then

I don't think you could on a UK spec car.

Only in 996.1 GT3 Clubsport and 996.2 GT3 RS (and possibly the very early 986 Boxsters)

I always thought that the UK 996s got the extended leather option as standard. Seems like it was only certain models that you could spec without.

I am getting condensation on the inside of my frunk. Carpets appear dry but I spotted it for the first time over the weekend. Drove it for about 45 mins, parked up and returned 3 hours later to find it quite wet.

Quick look at the drain holes and it seems OK.

Anyone have any ideas? I may need to do a bit of further investigation but any pointers would be much appreciated!

Car is a 996.2 C2.

So it's not a UK car. Pic of the plastic rears...

Don’t know if it’s because it’s a Friday or if it’s because it’s sunny or even if it’s because it’s 1st March but I seen at least 2, 996’s & 4, 997’s on this morning commute.

Every driver had a smile on their face compared to the others
