Yes I have!
So
The standard all terrain tyres do not have the 3 snowflake logo, therefore they are not legal in winter environments
What I am doing is buying the tyres
That have been made for the Dakar
It’s far cheaper than the wheel set at over £5000.. although you will get PCGB discount on parts.
Thank, i was meaning to look into winter tyres...saved me form looking into them.So

The all terrain tyres should be ok for UK roads and small amounts of snow?

I think the standard all terrain tyre will be absolutely fine for the uk winters and the compound rubber will be more akin to an all season. It’s noted on Pirelli’s website that the terrain tyre in other sizes is a winter tyre, but not in NA0 spec. The all terrain tyres should be ok for UK roads and small amounts of snow?
However in the European alpine countries you must have the 3peak snow flake to be legal in winter conditions… their rules not ours.
I don’t think anyone needs the full winter tyre if they are only using in uk.

I’ve been having lots of fun in mine now the temps have dropped and the roads are slippy here in Ireland. I am faintly amused by the prices, but I’m sure they will grow a cult following as people discover how much fun they are. After I took a customer of mine out for a spin he emailed me to tell me how “smitten” he was with it. Yes some will be garage queens, yes some people just won’t get it, but for the rest of us lucky people I think we have one of the best Porsches available!

Perfect garage - Dakar & Spyder RS, what colour did you go for?Koln-RS said:
To my eyes, any stickers on any road car would be an embarrassment.
Well I think the Porsche ones can look great (if I say so myself being a CR owner) but the idea of the Shell logo emblazoned on your car?! I get the heritage angle, but still....total embarrassment these Dakar's with corrupt-corporate-company stickers all over them. I'd say Rothmans is better than Shell! They looked like stickers and a definite lip, the car was absolutely great fun to drive but also very capable, I drove it thinking I wouldn't like it but it blew me away, a very wet day with those rough terrain tires it was still good, ice hill, kick plate, low friction circuit and the handling circuits, the car just kept performing, so much grunt. Tried all the different modes, drove in manual, auto and with and without all the driving aides on, smile after smile.
I did have a really good instructor who explained all about the car and used all set ups in all areas.
I have driven Gt3's turbo S's and lots of others there but I have to say this Dakar gave me more satisfaction than any of the other cars, with the current road conditions (pot holes etc) this should be superb on the roads.
