That car recently sold for substantially less on Collecting Cars Auction.
Ah thanks for the info, I thought it looked familiar. Can you recall the price?

Biggest problem with that car is the warranty implications of the remap.

Thank you Neil. That was pretty much what i thought. My manual T is my only car. As soon as I picked it up, I knew I'd made the right choice. I do miss my 981C 2.7 engine noise and rear boot.....but the T is a much more mature car. And I simply adore the look of the thing!
My sentiments exactly clap

3 weeks of ownership and despite the (what seems like constant) rubbish weather, about 700 miles in and feel I'm only scratching the surface.

Smitten to say the least.

I've been using my lightly due to waiting for the ceramic coating to be applied on Monday. How are you getting on running it in? Still keeping below 4K rpm??

“Maybe I need to start saving for a GTS“

Mmm, I had one on order before I got my T, which was a stopgap till the GTS landed. Test drove the GTS and decided to just keep the T, as for me the GTS wasn’t worth the premium.
You may have just saved me £25k. Martin Lewis will be offering you a job. biggrin

Hi Pivo, after 5 manual box Porsches I crossed over to the dark side and went PDK with the T…..

Absolutely love it - zero regrets re my gearbox choice

@finmac, do you have a PDK or 7MT transmission?
I am updating "order to delivery" thread biggrin

Literally just started nudging 4.5k, few and far between though (mostly weather related), plan is to keep increase by 500 rpm (ish!) every 1-200 miles now. Not really stressing too much about it though.

I see this as a very long termer so would rather gradually run it in and enjoy the car as I push on more.

Hope you get to enjoy yours more post CC

From the usernames posting on here lots of long terms Porsche owners, so looking into tap into your collective wisdom…

Current daily 997.2 Pdk

Problem being my previous 911’s ….all manual
964c2, 996c2 and 996.2gt3, although they weren’t daily drivers…

So my dilemma is manual 991T vs either manual c2s 997.2 vs Pdk 997gts

The later being Pdk because I think too hard to find a cost realistic manual to use as daily

Any thoughts from previous owners ? I’m looking for something just a touch more engaging than my current 997 (which is a great all rounder)

Thanks in advance !

Your question will arouse the manual v auto debate.

Personally, having had several variants of both, I would say that a manual, base, T or S provides a nicely balanced, enjoyable and engaging 911.

On the 991 the 7-spd was much improved for the 991.2 models, and a really nice gearbox, especially coupled with the mid-range delivery of the turbo engines.

The manual gearbox in the 991.2 T is not one of Porsches best as it suffers from excessive vagueness in the upper ratios. That said I wouldn't go PDK on the T as it adds weight and parasitic losses and as is somewhat against the whole point of the T ethos. Ran a new manual T (rear seats T pack lightweight glass pcm) for c2k miles selling it in 2019.

As ever best advice is to drive the models you are interested in preferably back to back and decide which you prefer.

Hey Finmac, I do recall you has a very compelling reason for crossing over to the dark side of modern technology biggrin

I had this done with Porsche Silverstone who did a good job on it. I didn't go for PPF though (never have). I probably would say Gtechniq is worth it. My car lives outside so good to get a bit more protection from the elements.

Are Porsche experts at paint correction then? I would take it to a specialist for this work.

Sorry in advance, this is going to hurt your eyes!

I’ve got a layer of film protecting my paint, just unfortunate its made up mostly of road salt!

I did and I'm really pleased with it and would do it again. 750 miles on wet and grim roads and 2 washes later and still looks good as new. Paint feels super glossy.

Edit to add, this was done at Colchester on my T, just before Christmas.

Ditto, I don’t normally, but it washed with a hose on our European trip

Yep, it's not that noticeable inside as I've not really got it that mucky in there yet smile
