997.1 GT3 - Good Choice?
Discussion
Goes to show a competitively priced car will sell, the 997 Gt3 gen 2 Club sport looked a good buy considering around the high 80k mark, it was priced 17% cheaper than a like for like car which has been up for months.
The 997 gen 1 Club sport was a good usable car for high 50s
Ashgoods seem to be pricing cars to sell not to look pretty, fair play to them and good luck to them.
Like 911r said buyers out there if priced correctly.

997.2 is noted as reserved as well, good work Ashgoods.
Nice , would love to know the price as quite a few for sale at stupid money, to sell these before covid were £95k.I wonder what price this was.
Puts the doom slayers to bed on the other threads.

Nice, not to bad and a great buy that.A real 6% drop as the others for sale are daft money not selling and not that good a condition on the ones I looked at,
Selling cars with these miles in CS were £95k and still a bit slow to move.
When was this one listed ?

'm pretty sure a Gen 2 Clubsport was, deepening on mileage, around £100k asking. Plus or minus a bit.
Not to sell, selling cars were £95k and still took ages. But that’s plus or minus a bit no ?
Any thing sub 30k miles and below £90k is a nice buy esp as I don’t see a crash in these bar panic sellers who think it’s wise to jump ship now.
We won’t know now till spring 2021 where real prices are, most have written off 2020, no one buys these in winter bar traders for stock, so to get a true future price we will have to now wait till April 2021.

I’m yet to see a cs with those miles at 95k retail? All have been closer to 105k retail for some time in what I have seen. So if we do a like for like on the retail prices I’m pretty sure that gives us a true 17% drop and that’s before we know if Ashgoods took a offer on the car which would make the spread even further. Obviously I don’t know if they took a offer as I didn’t buy the car car. Either way if we just look at the price I think someone has had a nice buy at 89k or a little less if an offer was excepted.
Ashgoods have shifted two 997 Gt3 cars this weekend, even if the cars are SOR they have bagged a nice little bit of profit during these challenging times for businesses. Makes a lot more sense than having a car listed for stupid money which you are paying insurance on, taking up space, spending time and money talking to clients on and not getting a sale a year down the road.
Be interesting to see where the prices level out, I do remember you saying you felt a good conditioni 997.2 Gt3 club sport should be around £85k, do you still think this is a realistic number or do you now think this could be lower?
Even in a falling market there will always be a buyer for a good 997 GT3. Built in relatively small numbers and the best all-round GT3. I don't even compare the 997 to the 991 - it's a totally different drive and feel to a modern car. I'd love another (clean/warrantied) 997, and might bite the bullet if they drop another 15% - which I think they will, but can't see anything more drastic than that, whereas a 991 GT3 I could easily feel a 25% drop extremely likely in a very short time. I also feel 5/10yrs from now you'll need a deeper wallet for a (clean) 997 over a 991.
Porsche got it bang on with the 997. It's a car you'd want to keep forever.

997.1 Clubsport sold
But look at the 997.2 Clubsport that’s just go up for sale there.
£89k looks like a realistic price, rather than those trying to sell for £100K+. Think it will sell pretty quick too. Ashgood seem to be sensible people. But look at the 997.2 Clubsport that’s just go up for sale there.
People might be thinking best to sell now at the start of a correction rather than in a month or two when things might get worse.
There is a 997.2 turbo on AT at c.75k miles at £45k, black, pdk, looks decent if anyone is in the market.
I am waiting for good r8 v10 manuals to hit low £40k's..........

Cannot see a CS drop £34k !
I can. But the only way to be sure is if everybody keeps hold of them and nobody bails. There's too many 991's to class them as safe buys so I honestly can't see them being immune if the market declares a crash. Looks as though the white & red 997.2 GT3 RS which JZM had just dropped the price on has sold. Seems some people are having to cash out of their, but there are still plenty (enough) willing to buy.
Still showing on PH Classifieds, but not on their showroom: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...
I was mightily tempted... almost relieved it's gone!
