No, I have to agree. I don't need extra exhaust noise that much, That's why I'm looking at Sharkwerks . Now if it were some delivering some extra BHP, give me the PSE you can have my money.
Agreed, hence the original post. You're a quarter of the way to a power upgrade via Techart with that....JWatson911 said:
So finally got some time with help to get under my 997 C2 2011 non PSE. Full of confidence and armed to the teeth with 13mm half moon spammers etc. What we found were some very degraded nuts and bolts. My car has 35,000 miles on but Jesus they are bad, so bad in fact that trying to get the 3 x 13mm nuts of the side cats was impossible. First one just sheeted straight off and trying to get the remaining bolt through the back was also without luck. Even heating them didn't solve it. The 3rd and highest bolt, after inspection was smaller than 13mm and more like 11mm. That's how rusted and degraded they are, trying to get any leverage on the most difficult one was impossible. I would image the rear bumper may need to come off to get better access and force.
So a bit fruitless and possibly beyond my tool kit.
Can some confirm that when the nut is removed from the 3 bolt holding the centre muffler to the side cats, that they should push through? We could see a small amount of bolt pushing through at the rear? Perfect day for it, but that 3rd and hard to reach one stopped us as we could gaurantee we could remove it.
Presumably these bolts cant be cut out and replaced? Maybe others can assist on this thread...So a bit fruitless and possibly beyond my tool kit.

OK Chris, I'll bite.
I have today fitted the Sharkwerks bypass, you supplied a couple of days ago, to my non PSE 997.2 C2s. I have done a "before" video to try to capture the sound and will do another tomorrow, or when the weather brightens up for the "after" sound. I will say, on start up and driving the couple of miles home from garage it did sound better to me but didn't have chance to get the car warmed up, I can only describe it as the car sounds to be breathing better. If anyone interested is near South Yorkshire they are welcome to come round and have a listen.
Out of interest I tried to get the car Dyno'd for a before and after on the power but the engine management system/ABS will not let you run the car without the front wheels turning, apparently you need a rolling road with linked rollers and there is not one in the area.
Regards John
I think there would be a lot of people here interested in seeing your before and after videos, how are your thoughts now? I've held back given my car is non-PSE.I have today fitted the Sharkwerks bypass, you supplied a couple of days ago, to my non PSE 997.2 C2s. Not sure if facebook links are allowed on here or not...?
Anyway we have posted videos of before & after on a non PSE 997.2 C2S on our facebook page.

Thanks for posting Chris, seems like there is a marginal difference between the standard and the Sharkwerks options on a non PSE. Although, slightly disappointing how much.Anyway we have posted videos of before & after on a non PSE 997.2 C2S on our facebook page.

Fitted a Sharkwerks by-pass on my 997.2 C4S this evening. Mine is a non-PSE car, so it desperately needed something to liven it up! I ordered the kit from Chris at ABP and had him ship it to me over in Dubai. It arrived in a few day (great service!) along with some new shiny nuts n bolts.
However, unlike you lot in the UK, I didn't have to cut/grind off any bolts, little bit of WD40 helped if anything and it only took me an hour (I didn't remove the bumper). I guess it just shows what difference in climate (and lack of road salt) has. My car has only done circa 22k miles.
For those looking to DIY, I recommend the 13mm moon spanner for the top nuts on the flanges. Awkward buggers without it, especially doing this when the car is only on axel stands.
Over all, I'm pleased with the sound for the price
Thanks for the update and impressive DIY effort, you seem fairly neutral about the outcome. What would you rate it out of 10 against your expectations? However, unlike you lot in the UK, I didn't have to cut/grind off any bolts, little bit of WD40 helped if anything and it only took me an hour (I didn't remove the bumper). So... that exhaust set up looks right on the dot familiar and a straight copy of our set up all the way down to our unique clamp/hardware method vs what companies have copied before (using clamps at least those guys changed it a bit). So is this how it works Chris@ABP? You buy a few of ours and then send one to Milltek to just rip ours off completely and sell it for less? OK I see the business model...
Well if you want a knock-off albeit cheaper by all means go ahead. Just to let everyone know if you're looking for a Sharkwerks exhaust (albeit more expensive) then I guess you'll have to get it elsewhere or directly from us.
Phil Millington, seriously?
