991 GT3.1 spec
Discussion
I would say the most important thing about spec is how it suits your particular requirements. Ceramics? Only essential if that's what you demand, for some the fear of damaging a rotor and forking out for possibly two new disks outways the other perceived benefits. Maybe you intend to track the car regularly so PCCB's are more of a negative than positive. Comfort seats or buckets, again it's how you feel about them, comforts are fine for general road use and the buckets really come into their own on track. Lift, lights etc comes down to your preferences.
For context, I had a Black, steel braked comfort seat spec 991.1 GT3. It was by far the best car I've ever owned. I px'd it for a 991.2 GT3 back to my OPC. I got what I felt was a very fair PX price, and the car was sold before I had the chance to see it in the showroom. So despite what you might hear, pretty much every flavour of spec can sell well, at the right price, which is pretty much determined by what the person interested is willing to pay.
There's a huge amount of waffle about what's essential on these cars, but for me it boils down to what's essential to you, not what some one else says it must have!!

Spec is on the eye of the beholder. Higher spec cars do seem to go more quickly as long as low miles
The resale hit would come without axle lift. But I’m not sure quite how important it really is. I use mine because I can, rather than need. Had no problems with a lowered GTS
Go and see a few cars and you’ll see what you like and want. Leather dash is nice but I would have been happy without. (It’s the door cards that look a little ordinary without leather, alas this was not an option) I didn’t want a cage but was keen on sport buckets if I could find a car with these. I ended up writing a small list of ‘must haves’ for me and likes.
The fussier you are the longer you’ll wait and the more you’ll pay

All the cheaper cars have steel brakes, so I think ceramic's are a must have.
Plus the ceramic's and yellow callipers fill the wheels out better.
Plus they are considerably lighter than the steel brakes.
I spent a lot of time looking for the right car, but I did not even bother looking at any GT3's if they had steel brakes.
But it's all personal choice.

I think the main must have is lift. Clubsport/comfort is a binary thing: people generally want one or the other and only look for those cars. PCCB just makes it more saleable.
I got a high spec car and having used them, my assessment of the options are:
My “must haves” were:
- Lift
- clubsport
Really really want:
- PCCB
- dark headlights
Nice to have but makes no difference to purchase:
- leather dash
- heated buckets
- cruise
- upgraded Hi-Fi
- dimming mirrors
- coloured belts
- silver pedals
Don’t care/useless
- home link
- interior light package
- track app package
- voice control
The only thing it doesn’t have which would be nice (but again makes no difference to me) is the LED headlights.

Not so sure front lift is a “must have”....!! My GT4 (where lift was never an option) copes just fine with anything other than steep-ramped, underground car-parks.... Even then, a slight scraping at most, as long as speed is kept down and approach angle adjusted.... All adds to the fun/challenge....!! Porsche GT front splitters are priced relatively “cheaply”, and can be changed in the blink of an eye....!!I got a high spec car and having used them, my assessment of the options are:

IMO front lift is only a “must have” for resale purposes alone— and mostly to those who have no idea that these cars can cope very well running at standard height, under almost all daily scenarios....!!

^^^^ Absolutely..... Such complete bks is spoken about “must have” options on these cars.... The cars speak for themselves: the chassis, the motor, sound etc.... 99.9% of the “soul” of GT cars is made up of these elements alone.... EVERYTHING else is either entirely subjective, or simply down to concerns over residuals...Club sport pack

100% agree. I must admit though I shat myself Friday night (had to do drop lad off at his prom) and the entrance into the venue was really steep. Not even a scrape, and I really expected one this time.Phooey said:

I hope you mean that proverbially and not literally..!I have lift on mine however my GT3 sails over speed bumps with it off which caught out my GT4..I also took a friend's son to his prom last Wednesday much to the delight of the onlooking hordes of kids..
Best spec new RS i've seen on PH is Hunter 66's black one with no-cost Aurum wheels on steels, standard lights and hardly any options..
Bought for driving and not to flip..
I wanted a different colour to white, but very happy with it now.
My must haves were -Sub 10k miles, PDLS, heated seats (it will be driven in the winter),Tel/Nav PCM etc. Nice condition
My wants were Sport buckets, PCCB, Lift, Chrono, auto dim.
Like but less bothered leather, extended leather, coloured seat belts, extra alcantara etc
I ended up with must haves, wants and likes. So very happy. I might buy some seat belt outlets in Alcantara and change the headlights to full black and I am getting the wheels refinished in Satin black....

I doubt you would buy one in comfort spec :-) and when specing from new led lights look well cool and BoSE is far better than spp, so you enjoy being in the car over Sunday hoons.Porsche911R said:

Hi Guys,
How important is clubsport and ceramics for resale with these ? Anyone know the red at Wolverhampton OPC or the yellow at Hinckley ?

By contrast, the white, non-CS that they have is still for sale. IIRC and someone might correct me if I am wrong, this is the same just (just with added decals on it) as they had in stock at the end of last year. Which sort of tells you about resale.

The White Wolverhampton car with decals has been around since March. Over the last month 6 cars sold at OPC's most relatively high spec the red car at Wolves sold very quicklyBy contrast, the white, non-CS that they have is still for sale.
