996 Turbo to 964 or 993?
Discussion
Hi All,
Thinking of changing from a 996 turbo to a 964 or 993. Fancy an air cooled and these two seem the most usable. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on doing this or experiences of anyone who's done this. I would make a few subtle upgrades to suspension and wheels. Would hopefully be a ' keeper'.
Thanks,
Matt

First thing is have you actually driven a 964 or 993?
They're older cars and very different from a 996 turbo.
I went from a 3.2 Carrera to a 993 C4 (varioram) because and didn't like it as much so ended up in another 3.2 Carrera.
I currently have a 996 turbo X50. The performance is on a different level, it's easier to live with and less agricultural.
The biggest challenge will be finding a good rust free car in top condition for sensible money.
You may have driven them, but if not try and get out in a few and see if you like them.
No right or wrongs just personal preferences.
I'd love another air cooled car but it would be another 3.2 or 964, not a 993 (my preference).
Not driven either, hence asking here. Probably not easy to find one to drive either. They're older cars and very different from a 996 turbo.
