Porsche are sticklers for detail when it comes to fitting tyres. They can order the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S but are not allowed to fit them! All GT3/GT2’s have to be be fitted with a Cup 2 tyre.. even in the winter. V odd...
am trying to change tyres ahead of a trip to Scotland next week... weather looking v damp!
Wow. That's a pain as my Black Circles fitter won't go near Centre-Locks and I'm not sure I trust Kwik-Fit.am trying to change tyres ahead of a trip to Scotland next week... weather looking v damp!

What was the temperature on the rainy days when you were on track? Did you try to get proper heat into the tires - which can be an issue on cold rainy days as you need to actively work the car to do so
Last week at Goodwood it was about 10 degrees and raining. I couldn't get much heat into the tires, but to be honest I'm not competent enough to risk it (and you only get 4 proper laps at Goodwood). In December it was 3 degrees and wet at Silverstone (Open Pit Lane) and the car was being driven by a 'proper driver' and couldn't get any real heat into the tires without risking it (PS I could not easily replace this car even if I could afford to).I once became a Hovercraft Pilot in my GT3 on the M40. It was the most terrifying experience in my life and it was only sheer luck that it didn’t end very badly. I’m amazed that Porsche haven't been sued yet. I think it’s going to happen in the future when there’s a big accident. I won’t drive mine in the rain if I can help it.
