Boxster Spyder
Discussion
Just trying to finalise my spec and am not convinced on the 'silver stitching' with the leather dash and door option. Saw a Boxster GTS with 'silver stitching' yesterday which frankly looked dull....the stitching colour is more dark grey and too similar to the black leather to make a difference......also looks identical on the Rhodium show car on page 50 of this thread. My 991 GT3 has the leather option with standard stitching (albeit 'platinum') and is perfectly matched to the white exterior.
Considering going red stitching for this reason although if red door straps are compulsory this may be too much........

I think you'll be ok with red stitching / red door pulls on a white car. Where I think it sometimes goes too far on certain cars is when you introduce a red roof as well. Can look a little much against white perhaps.Considering going red stitching for this reason although if red door straps are compulsory this may be too much........
I'm still torn between GT Silver and Carrara White (any opinions vs. flat white by the way?). Cost isn't the issue, just want to get it right. I loved my last GT boxster but maybe I should have a change. Paint to sample is tempting too, but I don't think I'll go wrong with white or silver.
I am also warming to Sapphire blue more than I thought I would - but definitely not with silver wheels as it looks a little dated?

Some consider the metallic white too similar to the flat Carrara and in most light for the UK that is probably true so the extra £ for metallic white may be a waste.
Sapphire is perhaps a marmite colour and considered by many not to look as good as expected on the car. Agree with your comment on the platinum wheees although bizarrly a limited few specced the silver wheels as an expensive option instead of the platinum on their GT3s!
If I decide to go white, for the sake of £500 I'll take the metallic. When you start looking at paint to sample £500 seems cheap anyway!
I'll almost certainly go satin wheels if going white, and fairly certain with GT silver but it's more marginal.... I think they will hide dirt a little better too as a bonus!

Sat Plat wheels really do hide the dirt I ran my finger around a Racing Yellow Cayman S wheels to see what the flat sat paint felt like and my finger was black! This was on a 1400 mile used stock car that was highly polished but even the dealer seems to not have to clean the wheels before showroom parking the stock I wasn't 100% sold on them but am so bored with how my wheels look after a 30 mile run with very little breaking that it was a no brainer go modern go Sat Plat save on sponges & water I'll almost certainly go satin wheels if going white, and fairly certain with GT silver but it's more marginal.... The entire option list looks cheap when you start looking at PTS In the meantime I have ticked an under the counter option that only some dealers know about full leather buckets TB303 said:

have you been to see metallic, you cannot tell, and on top of that you can never match metallic if you scratch it or stone chip etc.I'll almost certainly go satin wheels if going white, and fairly certain with GT silver but it's more marginal.... many people make great pearl whites which are stunning, but metallic Porsche white seems pointless.

Correct
What interior are you going for with the Vodoo Blue?Guess the classic will not go too well.
Interesting point about the all leather buckets and would make it stand out if remove all alcantara trim including steering wheel cover.
Do like that blue though, good choice.

Not seen it in the flesh, no. Good point about colour matching. I will of course check in the flesh before I order.many people make great pearl whites which are stunning, but metallic Porsche white seems pointless.
I'll probably end up with GT Silver anyway. Agh!!!! Speccing the car is very easy, picking the colour isn't.

Full Black Leather Seats leather steering wheel, leather centre armrest, red stitching red belts & door pulls Guess the classic will not go too well.

Just to throw out a bit of standard spec advice for 981/991 models which nobody on here seems to have picked - taking the no-cost "smoking package" option turns a pointless recess in your centre console into a covered little cubby with a nice convenient 12v power socket (for that is what a ciggie lighter is to most of us these days) in a much more convenient location to get to than the footwell. No reason not to tick that one.
