I think PCM is crap, so didn't spec, but I agree phone prep is essential in a car these days.
I agree, it's a poor system compared to BMW (for example) and the new incoming PCM. BUT, a £70k - £80k car in this segment should have Nav of some sort (imho).
Most people comment that the Range Rover nav is crap, but I couldn't imagine one without it (not sure it's an option but you get my point). Unless something is a stripped out track special then I think it is a glaring hole in the spec of a car at this price. Personally, I will never stick my phone to the dash or window of a car like this, but I agree Waze is good - but so is BMW RTTI, which the new Porsche PCM should have a very similar version of.

IMAO both are crap. If you can make phone calls you are not driving fast enough TB303 said:
Very happy. All things considered, it may be the best/most complete car I ever own with an NA combustion engine.
Flat black looks amazing on the Spyder if you can wash it often enough. I would have seriously considered black if I was able to wash the car weekly. I think the YouTube videos of black cars look stunning.
I like GT having owned a 987S in that colour with cocoa interior, but think it needs a sat plat or black wheel to finish it off as I found the PEC demo car a little bland personally. I'm probably also a bit used to the colour having had it before...
The OPC ideally wants my spec on Monday (although final lock down is 20 Jan). Not a lot of time to decide considering I only knew on Friday afternoon just gone that I could have Spyder. Mind you, it means I can't procrastinate. You are right about black. Black really suits all Porsche models & Spyder looks great in black. But my last six cars (four Porsche's) were black or dark blue. I quite fancied a change. Having narrowed down to Guards Red, Sapphire Blue & GT Silver I decided to go for Guards Red. I was very influenced by the you tube vid of the Spyder going through Tuscany. So, I'll pretty much go for that car I think - Guards Red, satin platinum wheels, black interior with red stitching, red seat belts etc. Just thought it was a great match of exterior/interior. Really liked the Sapphire Blue also. And the last red car I owned was a Rover 218 in the late 80's!!Flat black looks amazing on the Spyder if you can wash it often enough. Perfect timing for Summer 2016 plus yours will probably be one of the very last Spyders off the line as I am sure 981.2 hits the tarmac in May 2016 also
Hope you get the 3.8L and not the 2.5 flat four

Yep. Great timing for summer. Still in shock that I have managed to order one. I am sure it will still be 3.8L as Porsche have only announced the 4 pot will be introduced for the new 718 Boxster. No change for 981 Spyder. The trend has always been to introduce changes at the entry level - Boxster & Boxster S. Sure I read a press statement that Porsche will keep the 6 cyl for models up the range such as GT4 etc.

They are saying April build, with a late April/early May delivery.
I'm thinking you will have a March build. I have not seen any builds past March. Also production typically starts about a month from the lock... So that would put your build late February/early March.Andrew911 said:
