looks amazing in red, I was 50 this year and the wife says I cant get the MLC red? so either GT silver, which is a bit boring I think, although it looks good in different lighting, or flat black, either way plat wheels black leather with red stitching pcm and phone because everyone says you need it! 918 buckets reversing camera two zone climate bose, and poss extra leather to the steering coloum and entry cills? plus the usual "free" bits. I have only seen the Romans car in the flesh, oh and the FOS white one which looked silver under all the halogen lighting. really need to see one being used on the road. Cant wait till March. well done Andrew choosing your spec, I may be brave and go red!!

Really impressed with the film, really difficult to see.
I managed to drive for an hour and a half in the dry, only for it to bash it down 2 minutes from the safety of her garage
Hey ho... at least cleaning will be soooo much easier now.
Looks fab in red - gorgeous car. You must be delighted. Pleased I went for red - with the help from Mrs A. In the end it was a close shave between Sapphire Blue & Guards Red. Wifey helped me decide. I Just think it looks more 'complete' in red, with the interior red touches - red stitching, red seat belts, red door handles. However I spec'd interior leather package to replace the interior red paint which I am not a fan off.Really impressed with the film, really difficult to see.

Funny though I cleaned the 997 over the weekend & thought what am I doing changing my car after only ten months Never ever bought a car I have never driven or even seen in the flesh! I just thought if for any reason I don't like (sure I will) I could sell at a profit. I'am sure it will be a keeper.

Go on go red you know you want to! If the previous pictures don't temp you! I think the Spyder looks great in pretty much all the colours so don't think you'll make a big mistake - it has to be whats right for you. i ruled out black (which I think looks great on the Spyder) as I have had a lot of black cars. I'am always cleaning my 997 as living in the sticks the country roads are always covered in sh*te. I fancied a change. So narrowed it down to Sapphire Blue, Guards Red & GT Silver.Andrew911 said:

Andrew go RED - I have seen red in the flesh and it looks stunning. I have Voodoo Blue on order and I reckon it is on par with red which is £3k less!I had GT Silver on my RS60 and drove the PEC car in GT which is not that exciting colourwise. 'Maria Blue' (Sapphire) looks great - if you are a girl.
Tell your wife Red is FREE and with the money saved you will treat her to holiday in the south of France (via Alps), in the Spyder of course

What film protection are you using? I notice there is a Gtechniq cardboard poster in the garage. On my current 997 I got a Gtechniq detailer to apply their platinum products - very impressive. Will likely use the same on the new Spyder.Really impressed with the film, really difficult to see.

For the Film (which I did bumper, sills (which covers the rear air intakes) and mirrors) I used the Suntek film.
Originally I was going to use the Xpel film, but after read a few reviews recently talking of yellowing, plus Justin recommended the Suntek as it is easier to apply and goes on so smooth it's really tough to spot.
Very please with the finish.
Interestingly Justin did find a few small stone chips on the bumper and sills after only the 250 miles I have driven so far.
So feeling a little more confident now

I went for the Gtechniq Crystal serum which has the 7 year guarantee. Plus C5 Wheel armour on the wheel faces plus had the fabric protection for the roof.

Looks superb. I am a fan of Gtechniq. Have their platinum protection on my 997 for almost a year & cleaning is so easy - the paint is still so silky smooth. Haven't yet decided on what Gtechniq products/finish to use but have plenty of time. But one thing is for sure I'll be getting my own detailer to do before collection. For the Film (which I did bumper, sills (which covers the rear air intakes) and mirrors) I used the Suntek film.

Seriously BIG spec here for sale. Shame it looses the 3 year warranty now it's a used car sale

If it came with 3 years from new, then that will still apply. The 2 year used warranty is in addition to any remaining warranty from the first year as a new car. Had this with my Cayman R which was 6 months old; came with 2.5 years.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
Unless the rules have changed at all.
