That's brilliant!!

I see to date only 34 718 Cayman s cars have been registered in the U.K....

Rare car to see on the road.

Having had my Cayman S for nearly 3 months I am surprised there are only 34 in the UK so far - there must be that many as demonstrators / PEC cars ?

The little black plastic things are a anti theft device - basically you have to have one on you when you drive the car as well as using your key, otherwise the car thinks it is being stolen and alerts the tracking system (it was explained to me in detail at handover but I was more interested in the car than the security system so didn't listen that closely) if you try and drive without one of those a warning comes up saying you haven't got it on you - presumably next stage is an alert is sent somewhere ? My dealer said don't leave it in your car as that defeats the point if someone gets your key. It may be something to do with the tracker / Car Connect stuff you have to register with, not sure. It is a bit of a pain as I often get in the car and start driving for it then to tell me off because I haven't got the plastic thing !

Looking good Keith! Glad it's finally here.

Yep, the two plastic thingys are for the tracker/Connect.

If you pay extra for the tracker service or just want to use the free Porsche app to see where your car is/if it's locked/how much petrol you have left you have to have them linked to you car.

OPC is supposed to contact you before delivery to register for the service and get everything linked before collection. Our OPC never mentioned a thing. I had to go back after delivery (takes about an hour) to have it set up.

Thanks Neil GT silver brother beer- what a wait we had! all behind now! it certainly has a different sound track, more rorty, quite like it. I'm well pleased with the burgandy inserts, was worried whether I had made the right choice, my wife loves the interior. The infotainment is better so impressions are I love it.

I wanted to go 20 inch wheels but the roads round where I live are poor and the ride
quality would be atrocious.
I ought to know as I am a road designer!!! I was going to go the 5 arm 19inch wheels but thought the boxster S wheels looked better.

Congratulations, looks really good, I like the split interior but not keen on the pod being red though.

There's 83 including the S. Interesting transmission split, too.

Thanks!

Yes, very interesting breakdown ...

718 CAYMAN 34
718 CAYMAN S 7
718 CAYMAN S S-A 38
718 CAYMAN S-A 4

So assuming -A denotes Automatic PDK, then only slightly more PDK standard Caymans than manual, but more manual S than PDK

Very surprising!

I also thought the number of standards to S versions would be closer. Many more folk stumping for the standard ...
