Guys the model is now defunct right
12 months on its an old model and like the Ferrari of the day or iPhone of the day. People move on and therefore 100% guaranteed the price will dip below list very soon.
Max 18 months until a new limited edition comes out and these owners off load
The average new model Ferrari has had 2 owners inside 18 months fact !!! The car has done well so far but the profit will vanish when a new version appears.
Every thread your trying to talk values down so you can then buy one as it then fits with your view of values. Is it the car or is it the deal. So go and buy the Spider thats better than a 981 for the same money - your words.12 months on its an old model and like the Ferrari of the day or iPhone of the day. Not trying to be negative on purpose but just trying to add some reslism to the posts since the majority on here seem to think that 90+ k is no problem as an entry point. Markets change and my point is this so far has done extremely well at a premium but it never tends to last long as other rare card have shown. The market is now a wash with limited edition type models from Merc (edition 1 etc and bmw club racer or gts)
We the buyers get more cars to buy but also sadly with no much new choice it does have an effect on residuals
I'm too young to remember but ask a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 owner from 1988 how much in 3 or 5 years they lost on that car and the answer is a tiny amount, as did pretty much any Mercedes car back in the late 80s because supply was low. Now everyone with pcp can have a 100k toy and not blink but depreciation is not our friend

I think most of the cars I have owned have gone up since selling :-( , Noble, CSL etc etc look at TVR Sag prices.
GT3 are crazy over list money on ALL models and we know a new one is out in 6 months.
BMW GTS the old one still way over list, the new GTS is well crazy at £180k
even the lack lustre 1M is daft money
458 are crazy money now £160k for a nice one and they are 6 years old ! .
GT4 at list, doubt it will happen for years ! , and if the next one is turbo they will go up if anything !!
they might drop £10k but people will start buying them in bigger numbers then but that's still over list.
the only car I see a big drop in price on is the 991 GT3's, when a new one is very close now to release and should be a better car.
but again a long way to go to hit £100k list price and the cars getting on a bit now.

Firstly, a new GT4 is not guaranteed, nor likely to be NA, nor due in 18 months. Also, £90k+ is being banded about because they've been selling at that price, and in the early days, for £100k+; what else can we base current values on! You mention these prices don't last, but they have on the GT3; a comparable car. You also mention limited edition cars, this isn't a limited edition car, there are an estimated 600 in circulations in the UK. The GT4 marks the top of the range in the 981 model, it isn't an add on special edition. It commands a premium because it is good value for money, and demand was always higher than supply, simple logic. Not sure of your intent, but at least get the facts right first! We the buyers get more cars to buy but also sadly with no much new choice it does have an effect on residuals

Bluetooth IS a major deal breaker to me, the fine for being seen with a phone in a car is now 6 points from 2017!!! It's about time Bluetooth was a legal requirement as it's life saving out in the real world, esp white van man/woman crossing the white lines with some phone in their ear !!! I see it 3 or 4 times a day !!!
A legal requirement? Are you serious? Missing smiley there surely ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
If your phone rings and you are in a car which doesn't have a viable hands free solution YOU DO NOT ANSWER IT. It is that simple. The problem is people and their intimate relationships with their telephones - it isn't anything to do with the options lists in cars. The punitive sanction is not in any way a bad thing - indeed I would say that it is the 6 points which is essential, not bluetooth hands free systems.
[FWIW - tends to be small women in large 4x4s that I always seem to see using handsets while driving - the white van brigade always seem to be on headsets down here]
Meanwhile - you are talking about an option that can readily be retrofitted, so it really isn't any kind of deal breaker to a sane person who knows what they are buying (especially if they are buying from a dealer who has margin available to do that upgrade in). Essential options are things like the cage (cannot be retrofitted due to absent mounting plates), seats (spectacularly expensive), aircon (not viable to do), stereo (loom issues) and so on.

Sometimes its nicer to start statements with 'in my view' or 'I'm of the opinion' saves winding everyone up and appearing arrogant.

At Oulton Park there was a GT4 on track with us yesterday and a GT4 clubsport doing some testing. It made a refreshing change from these value threads. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Don't tell anyone it was me or the car will be worthless... ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

A very funky looking GT4 Clubsport (wrapped) just came on to the classified's today.
I think you mean a very basic spec non CS, non Bucket, non leather, non carbon, non PDSL car with very few options and a wrap ! so to that end looks quite expensive."The cheapest in the country with this level of spec"
lol what spec !!!
