I don't know why anyone still listens to what OPCs say about Porsche's plans. (1) They usually have no idea and are making it up and (2) They will, in any case, say whatever it suits them to say and then blame Porsche for "changing its mind" or not giving them the right information.
I second this.nsm3 said:
I reckon that once the furore dies down, you will be able to get one of these for a while yet?
I doubt it, way too many deposits taken already.not just saying that because I have ordered one, but talking to a few people and OPC's the cars way over subscribed
people will be very lucky to see cars in 2015 imo.
OPC was closing books on the car after all the extra calls today, if some OPC's were taking 20+ deposits there will be unhappy people I am sure.
remember out of the 2015 batch you have all the VIP cars and the PEC cars to come out the numbers also.
It seemed easier to get a GT3 because OPC's did not take as many deposits and closed the book sooner, added to that loads of cancelled orders due to the engine mess so people were still getting cars after the boat had gone.
the GT4 people were savy got their names down and for every one who pulled out 10 more jumped in even in the last few days.
Still be a rare car imo and hard to get.

That surely can't be right, the GT4 seats are extra and you only get standard sports seats by default?!?!
made the car get a headline cheap entry price, which does suck as GFV is always based on that entry price when we know all cars will be £70k and loads will be £80khaving cheap entry price does very bad things for resale as people quote it was a £65k car , annoying !!

Agreed, I obviously decided against buying this particular model, but had I have decided to and spotted no bucket seats (having come from the Cayman R with buckets which I absolutely loved) that would have put me off, truly madness to not include them within the standard spec.having cheap entry price does very bad things for resale as people quote it was a £65k car , annoying !!
For the record, I wouldn't have spec'd anything else apart from the paint.

Have you now been allocated one David?
Leicester?
nope but I am told I should get one and my spec is loaded on the system 2nd in line at the OPC.Leicester?
I guess we will get a Build slot dates and that mean you have one within 2 weeks ?
not sure how it works from this point, does the OPC know how many they get ?

How do Porsche allocate how many cars to each dealer?I guess we will get a Build slot dates and that mean you have one within 2 weeks ?

On past sales of previous GT cars, top selling OPC's of all models, best looking receptionist etc?

Just been told by my dealer there will be circa 120-140 cars for the uk and the same number again next year ,and that will be it.
as a total guess I would think each dealer will get a similar number to how many gt3's they got.
My OPC told me similar numbers, but said PDK version is almost certain and that could be same volume againas a total guess I would think each dealer will get a similar number to how many gt3's they got.
We'll have to wait and see, but he did say interest and deposits have been unprecedented, even compared to 991 GT3
He also hinted that there could be a 991.2 GT3, but that, I'm guessing, was pure speculation

You did have to sit on the DP's knee though.. ORD said:
Why does it matter whether they are standard or not? You pay for them either way. It's not like some huge margin nonesense (PCM); seats cost a lot whether included in the headline price or not.
That said, it's a bit silly to produce a car like this and put in standard seats.
Agreed. One thing to note is that the sports buckets have height adjust (unlike those on lesser caymans) which the vertically challenged might appreciate. Not sure why the seats aren't the same. That said, it's a bit silly to produce a car like this and put in standard seats.

This was my point, though maybe worded incorrectly. I just expected for the type of car it is (and the video promoting them), the buckets would be standard, just like they were in the Cayman R. Disappointed that they aren't, why would anyone spec the normal sports seats in this car! That said, it's a bit silly to produce a car like this and put in standard seats.

To be fair I would normally agree, but the bloke I speak to has been close to 100% right about everything so far.Gassing Station | Boxster/Cayman | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
