So have we concluded it's a girls car?
only the PDK ones with heated seats :-)we all know they are all great and it's a wind up, but in 5 years lets revisit the thread on prices, we have already had to revisit the thread from 12 months ago where a few choice GT3 owners said they would be 25k in 2013 :-)
every one just buys want they want, end of. (but expect some stick) :-)

But in 5 years time I suspect none of us here now will still have their Spyder.
You won't - something will be brought out that finally catches your attention. There's always that nagging doubt that the roof's a bit st combined with the hairdressers' car jibes and the you only live once philosophy that it's best to try new things every now and again.
Despite the current blip, I don't see them as an investment opportunity for several years, if ever, but when the sun shines, I do still very much enjoy driving mine which is all that matters really.
In 5 years time, mine will be 9 years old - that's usually the zone when cars are a bit out of love and in no man's land, no longer new, not yet classic. We'll have had the facelifted 981 Boxster and its replacement will be out too by then. £15k I reckon at 50k miles. Will I still have it? No idea.

I already thought about selling mine now prices are strong, seems daft to only do 1k a year in it.
the issue I have and I know Andrew has is, there is nothing exciting to buy !!!!
for a 3rd car which mine is, the only car I would buy would be a SC Elise in chrome orange and for no other reason than for a change, and I think it would be a mistake to do the swap.
yes I could sell all 3 cars, lease a 120BMW for work and spunk 120k on a Ferrari, 991 GT3 etc or some high end motor, but after the thrill of buying it would I love it in a months time as my weekend fun car ? I doubt it :-(
all it would mean is I now have to drive a stty 120BMW 98% of the time while atm I drive my R as much as possible and it's great and when the suns out the Spyder gets a turn.
I have a really big issue with how new cars drive and it's not much fun.
I could call it a day and just buy a Macan turbo and lump a lot off the mortgage or by a house to rent out, but again that's dull as **** :-)

I had the opportunity last week of a great deal on a C63 AMG 507, but after driving it I was unsure as to whether it'd feel too much like my old 996 turbo.
I was bored of that after 6 months.
I've now more or less discounted an Exige due to cost (and my body's inablility to flex like it used to...) and so it leaves me with the Spyder, or a 981 CS with sports suspension and a few trick bits.
A V8 however, is on my list at some point.

Having sold mine (great, great car, was the red 911V high miler with lightweight spec) I am considering a Lotus Elise Mk2, a BMW M3 CSL, a Z4M and a TVR T350C.
Still got my old 79 928 manual though, been with me through thick and thin and of course scratches the V8 itch.

With that line up you would have been better off keeping the Spyder !Still got my old 79 928 manual though, been with me through thick and thin and of course scratches the V8 itch.
