Lovely - how did you manage to get buckets so late in the build run? They weren't available for mine. An option for Germany but not the UK?![](/inc/images/censored.gif)
Fair play to the owner - Oz has ridiculous 'luxury car tax' rules which add 33%!

Of course, I meant Oz. Lucky bugger getting the option of buckets!
When I originally specced the car I went 18 way seats with standard brakes on 30/11/15. But over time it ate away at me that the car could be much better, so I changed the seats in January (from memory) and then made the last change to include PCCB at the start of Feb. My order locked on Feb 26, Car went in to production in the last week of March and came out w/e April 15. It took 6 months and 3 weeks from contract signing to taking delivery.Folding buckets never presented a problem, Porsche Australia confirmed availability as I queried it at the time given the UK feedback on here, but they said no problems, so it all sailed through.
My final spec is:
027 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIALS IN CARMINE RED
088 GTS PACKAGE, INTERIOR
220 PTV (MECHAN. REAR-DIFF. LOCK)
450 CERAMIC - BRAKES (PCCB)
583 SMOKER PACKAGE
608 GARAGE DOOR OPENER (HOMELINK) 433 MHZ
625 PORSCHE ENTRY AND DRIVE (KESSY) (Have just ordered guards red key switch to replace metal one)
632 PDLS+ (DYNAMIC HIGH BEAM)
680 BOSE SOUND PACKAGE
P03 Sports Bucket Seats
P13 Automatically dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor
X73 SPORTS CHASSIS -2O MM (W/O PASM)
XDA WHEEL SPOKE PAINTED BLACK
XNS ST.-COLUMN TRIM, LEATHER
XRT 20" SPORT TECHNO WHEEL
Bearing in mind that standard Australia cars are higher spec than Europe, so it already comes with PCM NAV, mobile phone prep, front and rear PDC and cruise as standard.
I wanted the car to be a real drivers car, as for my mind if you are going to spec a special car like a GTS it should be, otherwise why not buy an S? The GT4 was sold out when I ordered it and my order subsequently locked, for what the above cost me I tried to change my order when they became available again as the GTS cost me about the standard price of a GT4, but I couldn't change the order, so I am glad I speced it to be a GT4 lite given that I missed the GT4 opportunity.
I would also have liked carbon sills and maybe now light design package in hindsight but I had to stop spending money at a point. Bose seems good, Burnmeister is just too dear at AUD$7k (3.5k gbp) in comparison. PDLS+ seems very hit and miss so I found out tonight, so maybe I shouldn't have ticked that. Everything else seems great and the car feels part of you on the road, it rides and steers just like my old 997.2 GT3. Fantastic.
Great stuff. Buckets weren't on the configurator when I specced mine in January, so the Oz situation must have been different. Not sure why though! Maybe not many orders came through for them, whereas us greedy Brits seems to use all the stock up ![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
I didn't bother with PDLS+, so it sounds like I made the right choice. I also went with carbon sills which was definitely the right thing to do. Easily added by your dealer though.

It's the colour of the indoor lighting the camera can't handle, the low sun does the same thing to Guards Red.
Now back to the car...that is bloody stunning, it's the best looking GTS I've seen, I really kick myself for not ordering one before they stopped making them.

so, has anyone tracked their pride and joy? If so, does one have to do any pre track changes? like new brake fluid, new tyres etc. Would be interest to know how trackable from stock these cars are...
Yup, they're fine out of the box, just make sure all your fluids are good, drop your tyre pressures to about 29psi to start with and see how you go. I aim for a hot pressure of 36-37psi as that feels about right, but it may vary by tyre. If the handling feels "squidgy", add a bit more air. If it feels a bit too up on its toes or you're getting less grip than expected, take some air out. And just don't forget the cool down lap(s) before you come in. Also, don't put the handbrake on when you're parking up.Only thing that is really sub optimal is steel brakes if you have them. I've not managed to overheat mine, but the pedal does go rather soft after a few laps.
ETA: if it's an unfamiliar track or you just want to start easy and you have PDK, stick it in Sport+ auto for the first few laps so you can get your eye in. Then switch to manual after. I did that last time I had some tuition as it allowed me to fully focus on what the instructor was saying before I gave myself more workload.

Depends on why you want to track the car. Not really a good track car out of the box - but obviously allows you to learn more about the car than would be prudent on the road. You'll wear out your front tyres if you are not careful. Personally would do my Porsche tracking at the PEC at Porsche's expense in their cars and hire something more suitable for track days (I have used both Caterham and Elise hire cars and think either is much better on track, and actually no more/less expensive).bcr5784 said:

Thanks for the info. The idea of tracking of my car is not for willy waving lap times, its more as a way to learn how to drive better in a safe environment! Never done a track day before so obviously a little nervous about doing one in the first place. I have got a half day booked at PEC in Silverstone so looking forward to that.Only thing that is really sub optimal is steel brakes if you have them.
