7:48 'ring time if that's of any consequence:

That seems very fast. Would be interesting to know which tyres the Spyder comes with, if they set that time on the narrower street tyres (265 rear) then the spyder could be as fast if not faster than the GT4 on MPSC2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embed...
Reading another forum reveals that you can't open the rear boot unless you start the roof unclipping process, as the rear deck hinges differently to the 987.
It's also still a bit of a faff to complete the roof manouevre itself as additional flaps spring open either side, which you then have to clip down after stowing the hood.
All adds to the fun, but won't appease the electric roof lovers..

Are not ring times for production cars set on how the car leaves the factory ie tyres!
They ought to be but the press don't think so..... This is one comment about the Honda Civic's time "As you can see from the video above, Honda's new hot hatch clocked a time of 7:50.63, making it the fastest front-driver ever to lap the Nordschleife and blindingly fast by any account.
Honda suggests that the lap was clocked while testing the stock street-legal rubber (and not on slicks) and claims that the roll cage clearly seen in the video was fitted "for safety reasons and not to add rigidity," with extraneous equipment like the front passenger seat and audio system were removed to compensate for the cage's weight.
Of course with no official sanctioning body verifying these times and the equipment in which they're achieved, they're a subject of much debate, but there's no getting around the fact that the new Civic Type R is one very serious piece of machinery indeed. "
Oh yeah....
Trouble is that if you put a Civic R/Megane Trophy/Cupra on slicks they would outpace a 911 GT3 and without any outside policing of the times it's impossible to know how much they are bending fair play.

Assume they will be about £2k - same as GT4?
I don't think it will be as much as that - it's 1400 odd euros in Germany, so just over a £1000. Remember on the GT4 the standard seat is (now) the Sport Seat Plus and 18ways are a a £900 extra, whereas on the Spyder buckets are standard and 18 ways a no-cost option.itsybitsy said:
How much extra are the 918 buckets to the standard buckets?

I hope you are correct - I will be speccing them.bcr5784 said:
But the 918 ones have height adjust.... Depends on whether you are deficient in the circulation or height department.
I was under the impression the standard buckets were height adjustable and can be heated. The 918buckets were showing as no extra and non adjustable and no heated option daro911 said:

I'm pretty sure that standard buckets are not height adjustable (select i button) and the 918 are - my German is pretty ropey but it gets me that far, but as you say the 918 buckets can't be heated , whereas the standard ones can. I don't believe the ones in the UK configurator shown as a no cost option are the 918 ones - look at the German configurator to see the difference.I'm interested to hear feedback on the new bucket seats. On older cars the fixed Carrera GT buckets are narrower than the GT2 buckets. However, whilst I've not done a side-by-side test, the 918 buckets in the cars at Geneva seemed wider than the GT2 seats. Given they're electrically height adjustable they could well weigh more the=an GT2 buckets too.
