Anyone gone for ventilated seats? Does the cooled air come from the air con system, or does it have a separate cooler?
Any info on chilled seats?

Saw this this morning when I dropped my car off at OPC Silverstone. They're not shy on ordering PTS cars they also have a PTS Gulf Blue 991.2 Turbo S in the showroom. They had a Mint Green 991 GTS last year.

Guards red for me, picked it up this morning. 20" wheels, no PASM but ride is possibly better than on my Golf R certainly no harder

not sure what the fuss about engine noise is all about - agreed it doesn't sound the same as the old one but certainly got plenty of noise and character

Beautiful ^

Guards red is normally so bright but in that interior photo it looks more like Carmine.
Looks great with the Carrera S wheels.

What interior do you have? In fact, what's your full spec? smile

Black interior with partial leather package
parking sensors, heated seats, BOSE , Sat Nav, DAB, alloy window strips, climate control, smoking package (I don't but you get a lid to the cubby hole for £36 !)

It's a proper marmite colour isn't it. This is the 991 GTS they had in their last year

The owner is a member on here.

The 991 was in their showroom for three or four months last year...one bloke put a deposit down and then took his wife to see it who said he couldn't have it! I do think it's great that they have the balls to order these cars to put in the showroom.

Re PASM, I was under the impression that PASM is firmer than non-PASM regardless of mode (normal mode firms up when pressing on, or manoeuvring) I think it would have to be if it rides on lower springs. Again, the demo I drove had 20" wheels, no PASM and rode fine, and we specifically took it onto some of the bumpy cross-country lanes.

Stance looks good on PASM, but I'm not convinced it's necessary for road use.

Nothing scientific, just my personal opinion...

I've had a 981 Boxster as my DD for the last 2.5yrs, 20" alloys no PASM. I was perfectly happy with the ride.

However, even the short distance I've driven my new 718 (20" alloys with PASM) the ride with PASM off (I'm aware it's a continuously variable system) is much softer than my 981. I haven't driven much with PASM on but the firmer ride is still less crashy than my 981.

PASM switched off still actively manages your suspension though, right?

Switching it on just stiffens the management ...

That's my understanding.

20" PASM 718 felt softer than 20" PASM 981 but the 718 was a Boxster and the 981 a Cayman which might confuse things.

For what it's worth, the loan car 718 that I drove felt indistinguishable from my 981 - apart from the engine. I think people are searching for minutiae of difference in the chassis which are so tiny they don't really exist at all in the real world. At the end of the day 718 is a subtle update of 981 - with a very different engine.

PASM is softer than standard suspension until switched to Sport mode, but if you decide to push on in Normal mode it will automatically firm up the suspension. It "knows" what you're up to!

Have a look around dusk, when it'll turn pink.

My brother in law sold his brand new 911 in GR 4 days after delivery due to the "nice pink" comments!
