Were you hoping for free or subsidised motoring ?
Why would I be hoping for that? If I do get an allocation, the car certainly won't get sold any time soon. I've run a 981 GT4 for nearly 6 years alongside a few new (and depreciating) 718 Caymans over the same period. I am under no illusion that I'd be expecting something for nothing, as I haven't had that so far.ChrisW. said:
These cars are also becoming expensive to run ... insurance + any trackday costs + servicing + etc etc. And now depreciation ??
That works in 2 ways, as I am much more likely to buy a used one if it's at a lower price than a new one. I don't think this is quite the case for the GT4 RS yet, but I think it could happen this year. My point was more that a used example might be better value for money than a new allocation soon.Liam

They are certainly trading at comfortably under list now. The problem at the moment is that almost the entire stock of used OPC cars have all been bought at much higher prices and until those work through the system then the market is static. Once the inevitable baths have been taken on these cars, either by buyers overpaying or dealers loosing a few quid, then things will free up a bit. A steady trickle of new cars will help the process along.
A lot of the cars in OPC stock have been there for a very long time. My old car for example has been for sale since September 23, initially at one OPC and now interestingly at a different OPC. It’s still £20K over list so it’s going nowhere fast. It’s now for sale at less than they paid me for it though which cheers me up no end. There are a few cars offered now through OPCs at or about list so signs of movement. Let’s see who holds out longer, the buyers or the dealers.

Yes- it will be interesting to see how things play out……A lot of the cars in OPC stock have been there for a very long time. On a similar note- I put in an offer on a GT3 touring 2 weeks ago…..I offered £25k less than the asking price
and got a reply basically telling me to get lost. I looked today and the car remains unsold even though they’ve knocked £11k off already

As a potential buyer, I've got some cars, so buying isn't really a "need" for me. Dealers have to sell cars, so I don't think I'm likely to blink first, but that might change when the weather warms up!Liam

Yes, did £136K ish all in with fees. Strange car mind you, no cage in a 4RS is bizarre and that’s before you get on to the ins and outs of it having a new engine already….
About £5 -10K under current list but as it’s a 23 car then probably not far off the original invoice price. Not that shabby for a strange spec and strange colour combo. Grey seat inserts in a yellow car I wonder what the second owner paid for it? Bang on trade money in my opinion.Unless it sold privately then coming to a dealer near you priced at £145K ish no doubt.

I am hoping that the Spyder RS follows a similar trajectory as the 4RS. If it does then I will try one either secondhand or new, but only if all the BS comes out of the market.

I remember being surprised at the end of a meal in a coastal fish restaurant in The Lebanon at the high price of the fish ... and thanking my host for his generosity. His reply ? Money is for spending ... he had in earlier years lived in a basement for some months after a sniper on the roof of his block of flats had provoked a Syrian shell straight through the corner of his apartment.

What are porsche valuing them after 3 years with WP pack and sensible miles?
4 years was £ 78k Not been on the configurator, what's the right spec cost at list, £140k?

I spent last Saturday looking at a few different manufacturers showrooms in Bristol, I’ve never seen porsche Bristol so full of new and used stock.
Difficult to say what’s the costs of a right spec car nowadays. I guess it all depends how much you want a WS pack. If you were buying a GT4 RS to keep for a year or two I would guess WS pack would be needed to help resale.
On the plus side it’s good to hear another person who didn’t expect a gt4rs being offered new build slot, demand for these new may not be as attractive now overs is gone .
Congratulations to the poster who’s got a new build slot, look forward to hearing about it.
