2015 panamera diesel fault code

Hi guys
I’m posting on behalf on my brother.
He’s just bought a Panamera 2015 Diesel and had a fault code appear,cutting off the engine temporarily.
It read 12809-U010 no communication with engine control module ECM
I know these codes don’t necessarily point to the direct fault in some circumstances.
Has anyone had the same issue or can point us in the right direction as to what it may be?
