Hi Anjum

The car looks stunning and i'm now 100% on the stripe for my car.

Is there any reason why you have chosen to have paint protection aftermarket and not from factory ?

Apologies for jumping in but the 'paint protection' from the factory is poor plus it will cover any Ferrari imperfections best to wait for it to be PDI'd go over the paintwork decide if you want it detailing and then apply copious amounts of cellotape..IMHO

That's what I'm doing......plus I was told the factory PPF is not warranted.

Agree with what has been said.

I would figure out what you want done first. Once thats decided, then figure out who does it best.

If you have ordered an out of range paint from Ferrari - then it is painted pretty well - flattened off, rub down and then top coat. If you have a standard colour (i.e. off the colour palette) then basically you car will look like orange peel! I may have OCD - but the difference between Lamborghini paintwork and Ferrari is pretty noticeable.....

Figure out what paint correction you want have done (go goggle it!) - my dealer automatically applied a level 2 paint correction, which a lot of people are happy with. I'm going for level 5 paint protection (so that's about 85% from perfection).

Then you have the paint protection. I wouldn't bother with anything other than self healing paint protection (there are two sorts) - and you decide whether you want the front bumper, or the front half of the car, or the entire car wrapped. Given the aero on a Speciale - I Opted for the entire car to be wrapped in self healing PPF.

I wouldn't worry about the nearest. I would find the best - and most will arrange to collect/return your cars.

Haha.... Had a bit of a turn last Friday logged into 'MyFerrari' car was listed as ordered.... Checked spec, wrong! Rang garage they checked said that their order was correct and MyFerrari was usually wrong....They sent me their order which was almost correct, found an item that I hadn't ordered, strangly haven't heard back from them, I really have no idea if of when I will ever get this car,April? Running out of time.... wouldnt mind but this is the third car I have bought from the same salesman...... weeping

Yes - experience can be frustrating.....the MyFerrari website is so rubbish - just as well they're not a tech company!

I popped down to see my car pre-PDI to take some photo's etc. Miserable weather - but asked them to take it outside in this biblical downpour - I felt sorry for the technician!. I love the gold wheels too. With the NART stripe - the Rosso Scuderia and my blingy wheels - It looks great in super flat light - can't wait to see it in strong sunlight - I think it's going to look fab.

Only bummer is how it will take to do the paint protection/protection - 10 days! Ho hum - there are worse problems in life!

Not sure if you are going to track your car, but if you do, can you add the telemetry and track camera options? Truly Epic. Have amazing footage from Spa (twice) and Anglesey.

Also, really good to meet PheonixUK too! Did you get your tyre sorted out?

Did you get into the 2.30's, best I managed was 2.50 i think the high temp was stealing some of my horses...

Hey PhoenixUK! I hope you're well. Can't be too long to go now!

I checked the telemetry and had a best of 2:41 - but was was holding back a little as there were a couple of cars that I didn't want to too close too - and sure enough one had a coming together with a 991 Cup Car - but I think the car is capable of around 2:30. Will be heading back again - after my next race!

Amazing weather!

Hi Anjum

Spa will be on my list at some point in the future.Don't really do many track days over here anymore as i would rather just race or go over to the Ring with friends where i keep the modified M3.Its far better at the Ring than Spa as it lacks the power at Spa.Its still not too shabby at 2.47's around Spa.

I would say it is possible to retro fit any option but it would probably be near double the original cost. That is why i decided to take the build slot as i priced a few retro fit options with my friend and it was just not worth it and that's what made it such an easy decision to just spec a new one.
