F430 (Manual) - a celebration

i think i said it in another thread but i'll say it again here......a couple of weeks ago i turned down a BLIND offer on my rosso/crema manual(26,000 miles) of 120k. it's getting crazy!
i haven't been using mine much over the last 12 months so have been making a big effort to get some use out of it. i spent a good hour and a half out in the sun last sunday and it struck me........
all the recent chat in other threads about performance and speed and ferrari versus mclaren really are irrelevant. the f430 is too fast to exploit on british roads. here and there you get to open up a pinch but if you drive the car at more than 60% you really are risking getting your license taken off you.
really, how much more does anyone need??
that was a great offer, mines done 24k miles and a local main dealer offered me no-where near that figurei haven't been using mine much over the last 12 months so have been making a big effort to get some use out of it. i spent a good hour and a half out in the sun last sunday and it struck me........

Last time I checked, the trade bid (cash not px) from a ferrari main dealer vs the retail price they would put the same car up was £35-40k !They are a business and will make money out of owners that are prepared to forgo realising the true market value of their car in exchange for an easy and straightforward cash deal.
The last Porsche I sold privately yielded me 38% more than my local Porsche main dealer offered me as a cash buy... says it all.

ah right i didn't realise the main dealer margins were so high on a second hand car! They are a business and will make money out of owners that are prepared to forgo realising the true market value of their car in exchange for an easy and straightforward cash deal.

thing is....even if i sell it for 120k whatdo i replace it with??
I know the feeling !As I am also considering selling my manual 430 spider in April - esp if prices keep going up.
Sadly I just don't get to use it enough

the trouble is in a rising market, your being financially incentivised not to use it, hence my 12c thought, a newer, arguably more usable(except maybe the doors) car thats less milage sensitive and is loosing money. I can get my head around depreciation its a fact of life, appreciation is a different concept lol
well if someone offers me 120k I will prob take it tbh markst said:
Indeed there are a few 2008's out there.... this months Auto Italia magazine has an F430 buying guide and uses a 2008 spider manual (in light blue) as the feature car. Obviously with the manual, I don't believe theres difference between a 2005 or 2008 bar the carbon ceramics and the mk2 manifolds... most of the yearly upgrades were focused on the F1 hardware and software.
Whilst looking for another car on their site I stumbled across this one...looks like the original owner liked the colour red!

lol - I remember that car last time it was on the market - IIRC it took ages to sell - mind i'm not surprised with that colour combo.http://www.junction17cars.co.uk//used-cars/FERRARI...
I do wonder just how much it would cost to redo some of that red leather in black - that might add some value !

Even if the factory retrimmed it the uplift in value would potentially outweigh the cost one would think.I do wonder just how much it would cost to redo some of that red leather in black - that might add some value !
