Hi, I've done a few searches but not found anything conclusive. I want to change the gearbox oil as 2nd gear is a little fussy these days. I see the original spec is Shell Spirax S5 75W90 but this seems to hardly be available. Can i use Shell S6 75W90, or does anyone have any other recommendations?

Car is a 2000 reg 360.

Cheers

It's a bit of a minefield - you want an oil that can cope with the demands of the diff whilst not damaging the brass synchros. I have an oil made to my own specs by a UK blender but if you want a recommendation then try and get hold of some Valvoline Durablend (I had to stop using this as it isn't supplied in large quantities any more) or Agip Rotra LSX.

Try adjusting the LH gear cable where it goes into the gear-lever - worked for me....
