Hi,

Quick one:

Wonder if anyone knows exactly what Battery (capacity specs/size/dimensions/terminal positions) are fitted to my 1992 Ferrari 348tb. The battery has lost its useful capacity and drops to 11v as soon as a starting load is put on it. Done usual trickle chargers, battery conditioner, and it fails to maintain float with error F05 'replace battery'

I'm aware the battery on 1992> cars is located in the drivers side wheel arch/behind front bumper. I'll be looking to replace it soon.

Was hoping to research which is the best option battery to buy, and if there may be an option to increase the battery to a higher capacity (should space be sufficient) but was hoping to do this without jacking car up and removing the wheel to check specs/orientation and space - which i will do eventually as no choice if i cant get the info.

The car is also LHD, so does anyone know exactly which way the terminals/posts are positioned (+ve right, -ve left for example) will it be different to RHD cars?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new one - the owners handbook has the original spec

A good supplier like Tayna will have an online selector showing the appropriate current items

Thanks. Checked owners handbook, and funnily it showed the battery as having a left hand +ve terminal and right hand -ve.....jacked car up, took off wheel and inner wheel cover and found out it was actually the opposite to the owner manual and pictures!! right hand +ve scratchchin

Pleased i physically checked though as it might have resulted in a wrong battery ordered had i taken the manual advice.
Book says 66AH/70AH - noted a 77AH already fitted so ordering the same 77AH capacity again.
