Do you know how many have come into UK other than dealer demonstrators ?

Sorry? Demonstrators? Having read this thread what exactly would the demonstrators be for - other than to be a big tease?
Or are they on offer to put people off who have already ordered them?
“Here you go. Try this. You love it? No you can’t actually buy one - they are only for our special customers. “
Puts me right off the brand.
It is a bit bonkers but I imagine Ferrari have a process that includes the dealers getting demonstrators and that is all more-or-less automatic before they get to the point where the cars have all been sold. It is worth noting that I don't recall any other non-limited edition model effectively having the entire prodution run for the UK market sold out even before the first car has been delivered. Besides, most of those with orders in place will not actually have driven the car and may well want to(!) before finalizing their spec.Or are they on offer to put people off who have already ordered them?

I assume the dealer cars will be registered as a demo for 6 months or so, then sold as approved used, maybe for a premium.
Demo cars always get sold on like any other used car. In some cases the dealer will already have effectively pre-sold it to a customer.Jonathan
Don't want to rub it in but a UK instagrammer who has never bought a new Ferrari has been allocated a 812!

Well unfortunately despite having my deposit in for a number of months (since launch) I’ve been told this evening I won’t be getting allocation on an 812. I’m pretty gutted as I thought I’ve ticked a few boxes over the years. I’ve bought two Ferraris so far, an F430 bought from an official dealer through Ferrari finance which I sold back through the same official dealer when I bought a 458 Speciale. Again I bought it using Ferrari finance and have had it now for almost three years despite being asked to sell it many times by the same dealer. Even when prices were as high as £375k I refused to sell it as I love it and will keep it for life. I spec up my cars really nicely too with good taste and lots of carbon, obviously. Spent £45k on the last options list and the 812 was hitting £70k! I’m also up for the new 488 Speciale or GTO whatever it will be called as business is going well. I’d buy the next two cars with Ferrari finance too and have no intention to sell them either. I’d like to start a collection. I’d classify myself as a good potential repeat purchaser however how can I become one if you don’t get allocation? Frustrated and very heartbroken! Fingers crossed for the 488 GTO I guess....
I wonder whether there will ever be a back lash from the marginal buyers who actually keep Ferrari profitable? Probably not - there will always be another sucker to take the punch.
Life isn’t fair - I hope we all know that - but to “gift” a car to a social media celebrity in order to promote a car that you can’t actually buy is definitely a kick in the balls to all those marginal buyers.
The only irony I do enjoy from not being a Ferrari owner is that in order to achieve the gold standard of Ferrari relative non- depreciation is you can’t actually drive the damn cars!

Ferrari is acutely aware of the issues their supply and demand of product creates.Life isn’t fair - I hope we all know that - but to “gift” a car to a social media celebrity in order to promote a car that you can’t actually buy is definitely a kick in the balls to all those marginal buyers.

They seem to be moving towards an increasingly sophisticated customer analysis which should allow buyers to get the cars they really want.
There will always be disappointments but as product range increases I think the allocation system will evolve to become "fairer".
