Great we've got another owner-to-be around. Have you got your eye on anything in the classifieds on particular? Not a lot of choice of RHD cars, but some very good LHD ones for sale. LHD is becoming less of a bargain compared to RHD though. Couple of very very nice non-red cars too....

I am looking for that Sunday spectacular and less for something for the wife to fall asleep in (done that and agree GT3 can do both easily). For me also I just think the CS is stunning to behold from any angle....
This is it! I rarely use mine for 'practicle' purposes. Tends to be 50 mile blats early on a sunny Sunday morning on A/B roads to buy the newspaper. 911s just don't come close for this sort of behaviour! My wife came out in it once, as she got out she said 'I'm never going in THAT again.'
'Yes! Job done' I muttered to myself

Certainly looking that way! Just sorting the GT3 sale and the deal on the CS. Wont state which one here as I don't want to jinx the deal (is a LHD car). Quietly going a bit nuts with excitement and anticipation...Slickhillsy said:

Might regret it but it seems such a weapons grade car and at current LHD euro prices for good quality stock and choice they are hillariously cheap at the moment...
Even if I do own for a year, sell and scratch the CS itch I'd be quids in.
Who knows - will keep reading the posts with interest though! ;-)

Good old Dirk, I remember him from my dealings when I sourced a car for a contact about 18 months ago. In my dealings with this car, I've come to the notice that the best LHD cars are actually now in the UK. This is because the dealers know how touchy the Ferrari market is and that everything is inspected and they can't pass off mutton as lamb in most circumstances.Had about 5 cars in my sights but missed them all - have to move quick in this market...
And the bar get's raised again, £195k for a 1000 mile museum piece left hooker

So sad that it is a museum piece - although I would not want to drive around on 10 year old "orignal Corsa tyres" even though they have plenty of tread left on them.

Unfortunately due to work and relocation, my launch spec rhd CS with Perspex windows will be the next Stradale to rattle the forums. Shes having an annual service and belts at the end of the month and I don't think we will be seeing her coming home afterwards. Regardless of what I have been advised to sell for, I would rather have the car in the garage than the money in the bank.

Be interesting to see the service history and SDX readings ? (the only real way to prove the mileage ?)http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/f...

Out of interest what are these and how do they help prove mileage?
its the sd2/3 diagnostic readers the dealers use to determine wear on clutch/brakes etc . you can drill down into the detail and see every gear change, how many times doors are open /closed ! guess if you have enough time you can match the data to miles on odotony h said:

The TCU actually records the distance traveled (in km) in each gear (including neutral and reverse). If you add them up you should get the odometer reading (in km).The TCU also records the clutch wear and other important data on how the F1 system is holding up. It will also give you an idea of the type of use the car has as it records the number of times each gear is selected.
To read the TCU you need an expensive bit of kit - usually an SD2 or SD3 but there are other options out there (I have an aftermarket version for home use).
These cars have loads of ECU's in them which record all sorts of data. If you have a diagnostic machine that'll connect to the ECU in question you can find out all sorts of interesting info.
