No they are not practical at all, You don't look cool trying to stick up 2 fingers through the hatch at a driver who purposely cuts you up, while leaning forward in a 4 point harness, simultaneously attempting to get your head out the hatch and shout over the sound of the engine what you think of him at traffic lights.

After 12 months of redundancy, job interviews, crazy house buyers and a protracted house purchase, we have managed to come through it all keeping our sanity and our cars. There was a point when I was beginning to lose both!
Thanks again Tony for listening to my ramblings.
Nice One.
Saw this in Paris at the weekend. Looks a proper car for the gentleman racer.
It didnt sell by the look of it.

Yes I viewed the cars on Saturday in Paris and watched the sale live online tonight. The Strad did not sell.
Generally it was nice with the track mods done very well in carbon etc inside. Looked like a total respray and the sin of not replacing the clear plastic stickers on the sill scoops. Stripe was painted on.
Calipers were blue and the ferrari logo looked a bit dodgy. Never knew blue calipers were an option.

Too many mods and questions. Certainly not an example I would buy.Generally it was nice with the track mods done very well in carbon etc inside. Looked like a total respray and the sin of not replacing the clear plastic stickers on the sill scoops. Stripe was painted on.

Forgot to say that we spotted a lovely black CS on the way to LM on Thursday.
Stripe, red cloth, harness and it was a UK RHD with the reg 555 UXC or something like that? Two guys in it.
We were about 75% there sat on a slip road waiting for the green McLaren after it had been pulled for a speeding offence.

Looked like a total respray ...
Can I ask why this 'might' be an issue... If the work was well documented / photgraphed (before and after) and recipts showed the work was done at a Ferrari approved and or very reputable shop - and the completed work was to a very high standard, would this not be acceptable?Edited by nigelonich on Monday 22 June 22:05

It's just dependant on who your buyer is, some people will care it's not the original & therefore expect & believe it warrants a reduced price, where as others are just happy to take it as it is as the cars condition is nigh on "immaculate"...But the key element is, people then think come resale, if they sell on the purists will always deem/maintain that as it wasn't how it came from the factory, it then gets passed by & that's the concern with buying the more rarer/repainted cars in some cases.

Would the same view be taken of a car re-painted the same colour (rather than colour change) or are you saying the car also really needs to be original / same paint it left the factory with? Understand some people mark down if the 'patina' is not preserved wanting 101% factory - however concourse condition and the intense work that goes into getting a car back up to factory FRESH should I'd imagine reflect positively in a cars value and apeal?
The car had been resprayed which is OK in my book. Whats not OK is when the factory clear paint protection they fit on the side gills is not replaced. Maybe if i had my measuring tape with me I am sure the side badges down there might not have been in the right place either.
My CS has had the sills painted twice and the front bumper twice but the metalwork has never been painted. There are a few marks but it really pains me to go all the way with the paint as when the sills and bumpers are done its 95% good.

It's the nature of the market now on the higher end/rarer cars - I've been handling a 288 GTO where it's been repainted from the original Red, & although it's documented & done by Ferrari approved in Italy, it is still deemed to be worth hundreds of thousands less as it's not the original colour.
Point in case. A car without racing history or patina should be valued on its condition. For me, a paintjob in the absence of any untoward reason or damage can only be a good thing.
I drive my CS and at some point, I'll need to repaint the sills and front dam to deal with the stonechips. Won't put me off in the least.
The UK Ferrari market is badly broken I think. Some people would rather buy a shed with all its stamps that a wonderful car that has been serviced/painted etc as required.
