Might be better to seperate the endless rubbish talked about F1 into its own forum, therefore leaving General Motorsport for people who actually like motorsport.
A vote fr this from me, I was surprised whn I oined to find F1 in "general motorsport", it would be ood to get F1 threads in their own foru and leve GM for, well, GM really...

Count me in. It would be nice to read something in the Motorsport section other than yet another Alonso vs Hamilton thread.

I for one would be very interested in this. It would be great to see what other racers are out there and learn more about what they're up to.

Its certainly a forum I would like to see. As the number of pistonheaders increases the number of forums will have to increase to accomodate them otherwise any thread thats started will swiftly dissappear off the bottom of the page after only 1 or 2 comments. Count me in.

I agree it would be good to see a racer forum, As others have said the motorsport forum seams to be covered in threads about loving or hating lewis, where alsonso will go etc

Ted has already said that his policy is to provide a forum when the volume of related discussions justify it. Coming here and saying, in effect, "people ought to be discussing this sort of thing" isn't going to get you anywhere. If you have anything to discuss, best to get on with it. If enough people agree and do the same, you might end up with the dedicated forum you're hoping for.

What I meant was that the volume of F1 threads suggests that F1 should break away from General Motorsport into its own forum, and not the other way around. There is certainly enough interest in F1 here to justify this.

As I said in the other topic, my name does make me biased on this one.

I personally think that F1 and Race driving/techniques could be split out of the general motorsport section, but as I said with the F1 debate a couple of weeks ago it needs to be done at a time when F1 starts to pick up again, such as the start of the car launches, and then with that a look at the popular topics in general motorsport to see if anymore re-organising or forum splitting is needed. smile

I don't want to know how you found that! God knows I'd forgotten about it.
