'Like' button

am I alone in thinking that a like button on each post would save a lot of pointless quoting and use of stupid laughing emoticons just to tell everybody that you thought a post was funny?

i think its a good feature on facebook, but no forums seem to use it...

I've seen this done on other forums, one apple site in particular (a massive troll centre) and the like/dislike addition has made it much worse.
