Hi Ted,

Hope all is well?

Have you stopped feeding the hamsters again?

On the Members cars the "Breakdown Costs" summary has disappeared?

Same problem both in Firefox and IE6

Still there for me.

For example, your Golf is currently running at:

Unassigned £0.00
Insurance £0.03
Tyres £0.01
Servicing £0.04
Tax £0.01
Upgrades £0.01

Wierd. I've tried forcing a refresh a few times but with no luck.

I'll try shutting down the browsers and try again.

There is a problem. You can hit one of two database servers when bringing the page up. I've upgraded the software on one of them which appears to have a problem with the calculations. So it will work sometimes, not others.

I'm working on it.

Pics seem to have gone walkabouts... not sure if its PH end, or photo storage end just yet...

I like it Ted however in the blog it is missing out the last part of the year. So i'm getting dates such as March 200.

The only thing I would like to change would be so that when you load it you get an overall summary of the costs (like you do now) but it would be nice to have a drop down list to show costs for Year 1, Year 2 seperately.

That way i could track how much more its costing me this year then it did last year. Perhaps it would also be useful to enter an average fuel cost for each year instead of just one overall.

eg. In the first year of ownership petrol was about 88p in this year its 95p. The summary could then show both of those costs added together.

Does that make sense?

Also Ted can you bring back the bit where it had purchase price, value now, mileage on purchase, current mileage as that bit was useful to me.

And finally when i click on "edit costs/blog" i'm getting a page can't be displayed error.

Yes, I can look at that. Bit more complicated to do, but I'll give it some thought.

It's there at the top. e.g. on yours it says "Bought for £1,000 in June 2004 at 96,500 miles."

I preferred the old method of breakdowns, I could actually tell what I'd spent in area's really easily, infact I used it as my servicing guide and reference when selling my car to tally up with receipts.

Nowhere near as handy as a tool now

Any chance of an old version option?

I'm hoping you were looking at a buggy version that didn't show the breakdown properly. I've literally just fixed this.

Please could you confirm? The breakdown is there, now in more detail than before.

My porsche insurance comes out at £2 a year. Can you fix this (ie with the insurers!).

Depreciation per mile is an inaccurate figure due to rounding I suspect.

I currently include warranty costs within maintanence. Is warranty worthy of a separate category?

On my M5, the first lot of insurance doesn't show in the Summary.

Yep, better now, just trying to get my head round it.

It is the same info as before, just tabulated differently.

Also my insurance is shown as £1, but the total suggests it's added the real value of ~ £1000.

Minor comment - it doesn't cope very well with large pictures:

Do you know if you have javascript enabled? It should shrink the picture once the page has loaded.

On that note, is it worth adding a category for "Trackdays etc." so you can track expenses that aren't directly to do with running the car but are inseperable from the overall experience?
