Editing titles?

Just something I was pondering today as I was travelling along the M1.

Would it be at all possible to allow the OP of a thread to edit their title? I know its only a small thing but think it could be handy.


For instance say there is a thread about a meeting of some sort, and some details changed, the OP could edit the title, and then someone who was going to the meet would be able to see in the title.


I know its only something minor, and I know that Mods can change titles, but thought that it might be something us normal chappies could do to save asking you guys everytime we want it changed.

Spelling mistakes are another example.

thats a very good idea IMO! i'd find it very useful, even for minor detail changes, and it would save time too.

Maybe. Just wary of people mucking about and changing titles. I guess I could add it as a privilege that could be withdrawn.

Any news on this one?
The reason I'd like it is because a thread often starts out as "Drive out in the South West?" or similar, then when the date/venue is agreed the title is more meaningful and saves trekking through five pages to find the last time someone mentioned the details.
Just a thought...

...not to mention the amount of times I've mis-spelled a word in the thread title and then looked an ar5e for days later when returning to the thread to read replies.
