Be warned! There is a scammer about offering to buy your car without seeing it, then offering a bankers draft for more than you asked for, claiming the extra is for shipping. He then asks you to send him a cheque for the shipping to balance the account and hands you a forged bankers's draft. He is trying to do it to me right now, so I am playing him along whilst I arrange a sting.

But just in case he's after your cash, he calls himself binned

Nick,

Could you report specific ads which you suspect are from scammers using the "report this ad" link in the classifieds section, and not name here?

We can catch scammers far more quickly this way, and we will jump on it as soon as we get a report (as well as looking out for them ourselves, of course!).

Thanks,

Stuart

I've had a little look and he's only sent 10 emails through the site, but they do look dodgy so I'm banning him and sending out a warning to everyone he contacted.

Cheers for letting us know.

I can't use your "report ad" button, as he is not an advertiser, but a customer

Why have you removed his deatils from my post. It is surely your duty to warn others? he has no rights..

Unfortunately leaving his details up would make us vulnerable to legal action, so they have to be removed.

What we have done is sent an email to every single person he contacted warning them, and blocked him so he can no-longer send any emails via the site.
