Should we have one?. Just a thought we have so many experts on here it might be an idea, The PandP is getting a fairly depressing place lately as I think it's policed by David Cameron's disciples.
I'm not a Broon Supporter either just like to think I can see two sides to an argument.

Defo loads of loud shouty tory boys here.

Can we pad it out a bit? the 'Politics, Religion and War' forum, that should tidy up the P&P nicely.

Wouldn't you be left with "What's you favourite baked bean" threads and the like?

I think the idea that this is the pub area of the forum is a good one, not to mention that pretty much everything is political in some way or another. A lot of P&P threads are postings about current news stories, which in turn become political issues.

How about a 'General Moaning' forum for all the whingy posts?

A politics forum is a bad idea, it will make the P&P just planes, trains and pictures that didn't quite capture the moment.

Definitely not Branston Baked Beans. I eagerly anticipated a baked bean/Branston melange, a truly exquisite epicurean sojourn...and what did I get. Baked fking beans. In tomato sauce. mad

If it's another nail in the P&P's coffin then I'm all for it.

Quite what the point of the P&P would be is up to question now we have so many off-topic forums that cater for a fairly wide range of non-motor topics.
We may have 'specialist' fora that deal with particular subject, but the P&P is a place where we can go where everybody knows your name and where they're always glad you came. You want to be where you can see our troubles are all the same.

I thin kthe issue is so many topics are on similar issues now we might as well have the Hate Gordon Brown forum so P&P can focus on other general stuff.

yes
The number of threads I read the title of and leave well alone because I know exactly where it's going are incredible. I'm not complaining per se, I exercise my right to ignore them. However they're just a bit...tedious, or even if the subject isn't, the inevitability of the gubberment being blamed is.

Sure, if you'd like to indemnify Haymarket in writing for all associated libel actions and legal fees arising, why not.

Won't work on a site like this sadly. I have been/am a member of other forums which are unmoderated or done so with a very light touch. They only really work out for the best if everyone is actually of similar mind in the first place.

In the case of PH they just couldn't risk the fall out if something really nasty kicked off.
