Utter rubbish! Don't waste your time. Have a browse round the internet, you'll soon find that nobody has ever got it to work. A point clarified by several phone engineers

Some bloke on the "General Gassing" forum reckons he got it working yesterday. Maybe he was lying.

Actually a mobile phone is a very good police radar detector, try using one when you're driving along and see how soon it is before you "find" a police car.

Oi - I dont lie... I have clarified yesterdays enthusiasm as well... Im not sure why you think its utter rubbish Davidd. The 'closed user group' idea is something Nokia use for personal forums all the time - such as wireless e-mail and the like. In conjunction with this both your service provider (such as orange) and Nokia both know exactly where your phone is, to within 10 metres (might be 3 metres now) at any time. As they also know the position of every Gatso it isnt difficult to work out how they could inform you of one ahead is it? Night

Mr Mare, I agree that they could be used for some sort of externally initiated warning method, after all is this not how the Geodesy thing is supposed to work. However it is not going to work as a normal radar detector. Now if someone came up with a Geodesy system for a normal mobile..... D.

Doh, I've just read the review of the Geodesy and it does not work like that at all...Duurrr Also I seem to remember that they could only tell what cell you were in not the exact location as in GPS. D.
