LP640 roadster manual rhd
Discussion
I have seen a few pre lp roadsters for sale recently (one for sale currently) and they are up for strong money, is there much of a difference in jump in performance/build quality and reliability between a 05/06 roadster and a lp640 roadster (i guess a manual lp640 roadster is not an option - (i know there are a few in the states - but i have never seen one in the uk). I have even looked in europe and have never seen a manual lp640 roadster. sirmark - i see in your notes you remark about improvements made on the lp640 model compared to the earlier car - could you expand on this as i would be interested on your comments.
Unless someone knows otherwise, I believe there are 0 lp640 manual roadsters in the U.K and maybe as Simon suggests only 5 in total manual lp640's left in the UK!
There are a few manual lp640 roadsters in the U.S, but not really financially viable to import, and even then your stuck with the Lhd issue.
I have only been made aware that unlike my Gallardo the Murci (I assume all) does not have any esp/stability control - I really like to give my car some stick down back roads/country lanes etc and wondering do any murci owners on here do the same? I am aware of the poor brakes on the early cars, but would be looking for a lp640 or roadster. Would love to meet up with any lp640 owners on here if your near London/Essex/Kent area.

My LP640 (manual) has traction control, I assume it is standard on the 640, I don't know about the earlier models, but I doubt they are without it!!There are a few manual lp640 roadsters in the U.S, but not really financially viable to import, and even then your stuck with the Lhd issue.

Yes i know they have traction control, but the esp / stability control is a very nice safety net to have on a car of this rarity and value - i have only triggered it once or twice in the gallardo in dampish conditions, but doing some research no murci has any esp/ stability control .... get the rear out just a little too much ------ gone! - I believe this is why they get smashed and written off so often (comparative to numbers on the road).
I can confirm a few things.
1. The Murcielago (early/640) has Traction Control
2. The Murcielago (early/640) has ESP (there is a button on the centre console, push and hold).
3. You don't need a dampish road to see the TC light appear on the dash.
4. If you leave the aids on, you can slide it, but you need a lot of room. Unlike the Gallardo which is comparatively easy to drift.
5. If you turn the aids off, you can still catch it but you have to have reactions of an F1 driver.
6. Due to the huge levels of grip, you will be doing stupid speeds when it does let go, so save it for the track.
Enjoy.
