Dear all,

New to this tread but wanted to get some guidance from you. There is a 5k miles 2002/3 Black Murci with 3 previous owners. Proper 6 speed gated manual.

Been stored at a reputable garage and then now being retailed by DK engineering for £130k. To high, to low? What do you think the market is like on a car like this i.e. what's it worth?

Also who would you recommend for an independent inspection on a car like this?

Many thanks in advance - !!!

Get it checked out by Lamborghini Pangbourne.

Mine had a few llittle niggly things needed doing when I bought it off Tom Hartley eg the boot leaked, the battery cut off switch needed replacing, etc. It all adds up but is hopefully only a small percentage of the price.
It's a fabulous car. There is actually more to go wrong on them than earlier Lambos which are simpler and just didn't have the gizmos - just needed an ABS brake sensor replacing. My early Diablo doesn't have ABS. The Countach doesn't really have brakes.

As regards price, who knows.
You can make a good case for prices coming down, going up or staying the same.
Keats said that a thing of beauty is a joy forever. If you take that view the price doesn't matter. Personally I've never sold a Lambo, so it doesn't matter.

Thank you Ferruccio. Good to hear experiences of an owner of a couple of generations of the cars. New to the brand and good to hear Pangbourne is recommended. I spoke with them earlier today.

If I may ask, what is your opinion of a couple of other places namely Carrera Sport, BHP (Buckinghamshire High Performance) , Gramaldi and the main dealer in Seven Oaks? Hear varying POV's on specialists vs the Official centres and just wondering if you have used or have experience (good or bad) of the other places that have been recommended for a PPI.

Given the options available its good to gain a view of people out there or do you use Pangbourne for all your cars?

As I said new to the cars/brand so any points are always appreciated!

Aren't some of the issues with buying a 13 year old car that has only done 5000 miles....

There is the risk that some of the niggles that people have had, and sorted, will remain unsorted on such a low mileage car.

Cars need to be used seals dry out etc.

You are paying a premium for the low miles, as soon as you start using it, it no longer has low miles..

Carrera Sport are very well respected, and Mike Pullen knows his stuff, when I took mine there he had several v12s dotted around looking all shiny and nice. I have bought several parts from Sevenoaks and they are always friendly and helpful, never had a service done there though - could bring myself to spend 4 figures to change oil and plugs !

I've used Carrera Sport over the years. Generally had a good experience with Mike and very cost competitive but a bit out of the way for me. So I've used Pangbourne over the last 2-3 years for Murci, Diablo and Countach. I was reticent to try them after a silly experience with HRO in London but they've been excellent and sensible on price. Even left a bunch of flowers with my car for my wife's birthday. I use Colin Clarke for my Jalpa; he's good, closer to me than Carrera but he only does the older stuff. I haven't used any of the other people, though years ago Del Hopkins, guru of all things Lambo, spoke well to me of Grimaldi.

Thanks all. Unfortunately I had to walk away from that car. Not saying it is a bad car but on checking there were some things that started to worry me.

Anyone know of a car for sale ? < 10k miles? Has to be a manual!
It would be interesting to know what those things were as no doubt a potential buyer could be on this forum.

I suspect that you'll be very lucky to get to see more than one of those in RHD a year.......

When you buy a car from a reputable dealer you get a warranty - DK will stand by that

What in your opinion was wrong with the car ?

I don't think that it's possible to tick all the bixes and be 100% confident with a 13 year old Lambo.
There will always be some compromise.
And very little choice, given your spec.

This car has only covered 5200 miles, has full service history, four new tyres and certainly looks immaculate in the pictures.
DK Engineering have a great reputation, so please tell us what is wrong with this car.
As it has been said before, manual Murcielagos are now so rare that you will never have a choice of several cars.

my supercar have max 20.000km and are all older ........ wink

I am the owner for over 20 years

the orange Murcy manual has 17.000km, is original throughout.(also the lights and wheels...)
I never spent money on anything, but only on consumables: tires and regular coupons.

the secret is to keep temp controlled, not to use them if it rains and high temp in traffic, and use them regularly at least half an hour once a month.
so the battery runs out, the guarnzioni does not dry, do not break the mufflers, oil resistant, etc. etc.

it takes a little care and head for using : is not "daily", if you want have a perfect supercar in many years....

Did e-gear come out with the launch of the murcielago in 2001 or when the roadster was introduced in 2004 ?

But there would have been a number of 04 and 05 manuals as well right?

There are a few manual LP640's and even a few manual LP670's, so no issue with your assumption.
They just rarer as e-gear took over.

So is my 2005 6.2 manual as rare as hens teeth then? in fact last year I negotiated with a dealer on an 06 LP640 manual, he assured me that was a 1 of 5 car

What's the general opinion on converting an LP640 to manual regarding how it would affect the value of the car? Could it enhance the value, even if by only the cost of the conversion, make no difference or adversely affect it as much of the World seems to be obsessed with originality these days?

Yes it is. I am told in 2005 there were 5 6.2manuals and 2 6.2 manual roadsters one in white and other in yellow with the balance egear cars.

I can confirm the yellow and pearl white roadster manuals,2005, I also think there is an additional yellow manual roadster in Scotland,
I was also under the impression there is a black 2005 manual roadster
