Is the Mclaren 600 LT Spider the most desirable sub 200k?

Can the suspension on the 600 be softened off to give a more pliable ride for road use?
Yes it's the same on all of them I believe comfort normal and race. I tend to use the middle setting. The light was l weight and rigid tub mean it has quite supple suspension. Serious track use would actually warrant upping the spring rates from stock. Edited by Kerniki on Saturday 19th August 16:56
Nice car. There's nothing MSO about it though. The options are just options. MSO is when you have it wheeled into mso and put something on it that isn't on the options list.
The 600LT sits In a weird place. A 720 kills it for performance and a 12c will give you better aero and a wider range of handling . The sports series look never appealed to me. Odd looking design decisions. , especially that kiwi down the side and the plasticy all over appearance .
VR is a terrific colour though.

Lovely drive out today and for those who mention about the ride well I often daily drive the car and will often select sport or even track on the road, yes it’s firm but by no means uncomfortable but everyone has different requirements but my GT3, Exige were firmer than my 600 and it’s not much firmer if any than my Ferrari 360 and 458. As such very easy to daily and do long U.K. and EU road trips. Also circa 34-38mpg on a long run, very fuel efficient when travelling on motorways.

Tbf, that's not being controversial, just saying it as it is.The 600LT sits In a weird place. A 720 kills it for performance and a 12c will give you better aero and a wider range of handling . The louvered wings aren't MSO, they were just a £2010 option, and the contrast stitching was a no cost option, but an extra cost if you wanted MSO embroidered into the headrest.
The Volcano Red is lovely, and as a heritage colour was special order.
Lovely 600lt spider though.

It's not a MSO car though.
Lotusjas 765 is a MSO car when you order a LT and then spend a fair bit of time and a far more amount of money with MSO on paint and other options that aren't on the original price list.
The carbon louvered wings, gloss black pack and contrast stitching were showroom option extras, some of them no cost options.
A good customer can always request and be granted stuff like a heritage colour not offered on the option sheet.
A good customer can order an extra car beyond the original 'definately only 500 spiders' like my car.
It is pretty unique in volcano red though; just a stunning colour.

His VR LT, louvres, ultralight wheels, etc is one of the best looking McLarens out there. Great spec.

+1. Great car - just misses that suspension that’s one of the 3 things that make Macs unique and special road cars (that can also do well on track). And for me it looks like it’s trying too hard. But I can certainly appreciate that the 600LT spider is peak Sports Series. Perhaps that was the original point of the thread - with Super Series cars as originally priced not being sub-200k?

Sure the 720s is faster in a straight line but so what that's to be expected with 120hp more. Around the Ring SportAuto tested both cars in similar conditions with the same pro driver and there was less than 1/2 a second in it which is pretty much nothing over a 22km lap. Looks are subjective so some people prefer the 720S others the 600LT...in the end no bad choices here they're all awesome cars. The 600LT sits In a weird place. MSO car or not it’s got the nice options I wanted which was the wings, full carbon sills with the brighter wheels and an awesome colour.
