does anyone know if the car will be numbered? It appears that my dealer does not even know if the car is limited to 765, let alone if the rumoured 765 units include spider or not!

also, I was told by my dealer that similar to what happened to 600LT/675LT, MSO Roof Scoop will not be available in the first several months (and the final several months) for whatever unknown reason. there is only very short period that the factory makes cars with roof scoop so if the roof scoop option is ticked, the car will not be deliver until "certain time next year"! I would want to have the roof scoop as I have observed that 675LT/600LT with roof scoop have been sold quickly and they have commanded about £50K premium, which is not far from the cost of getting a roof scoop (you need to order carbon roof and carbon cantrils and some other carbon packs to be able to order roof scoop). This long wait has put me off a bit. But the most important thing is that I will only firm up my order once I am certain the car is numbered.

Thats very strange - i've been told by my dealer that the LT Coupe is numbered to 765 units, which is also what Mike Flewitt said in the live press release. Haven't asked about the Roof Scoop yet, i am just waiting for the dealer to confirm my allocation, then i will ask. When i have been playing around with the configurator, i have been spec'ing the Gloss Black scoop, i feel it suits the car better with the tinted glass/black roof inserts.

I've heard rumours production going forward will be a 765 and or its successor and GT and or its successor. Sport series may be dropped and there may be only two model line up and their spyder variants moving forward. If this is correct I think 600LT residuals will probably be good for a Mcl.

That's only temporary, till the launch of next gen sports series I think.

Okay that was not mentioned whilst friend was buying a 600LT a few days ago but makes sense. The emphasis was on two model line up but like you I'm not sure why you'd get rid of your bread and butter model but maybe its so good it cannibalises sales from the model range above?

They need the 2 different series.

What they could do is reduce production to hold residuals, but no point in getting rid of sport series.

My understanding from newbie owner was GT would be the new entry level car with 765 or its successor the next series above so GT becomes the new 570 but he could easily have been confused as he has not got a clue about Mcl other than buying his first one. He was very happy with the deal and it was a brand new car.

I heard from a McLaren dealer that the replacement of the sports series is going to be a V6 Hybrid model, so suggests the sports series will continue with a new engine.

That's what Mike Flewitt said last year in an interview with Autocar.

Yes, it's numbered.

765 coupe, then 765 spiders.

No more Sports Series, but "no more" in name only. There is a direct successor, the hybrid V6.

So numbered like the 675 LT with 1/500 plaques for the coupe and spider but they had well over 1000 675s in the end.....?

I think well over is a bit of an exaggeration, the only cars I have ever heard of in addition to the 1000 are the handful of XP (development cars and the 25 MSO HS). McLaren math isn't Ferrari math.

it isn't. if you look at the run of 675 VINs there are afaik at least 1100 cars. That's excluding the VP/XP and HS cars.

Some interesting options:

Carbon Pack 2 = £19,945
Carbon Pack 3 = £4,010
Track Brake Upgrade = £14,900
Clubsport Pack = £22,140
Roof Scoop = £30k
Engine Window = £7k

Not bothered with Push to Drink at £6,500.

"at least" 100 extra cars, how does that work?

If there were 500 675LT coupe's numbered 1/500 to 500/500, and the same for the spiders, are you saying there are some duplicates floating around, or some cars numbered 501/500 etc, or are there some 675LT cars floating about without a number that nobody else has heard about. Or are there 100 plus gaps in the VINs and there really was only 1,000 675LTs?

Not all cars had individually numbered plates. The extra cars over the original 500 coupes and 500 spiders carried the 1/500 plates that was formerly standard (numbered plates X/500 were a rather pricey MSO option), vin was 0675XX rather than 675XXX that the first 1000 were.

765LTS, in some MSO colour that I've not decided on yet.

Fantastic!

Are they running them out together rather than coupes first like 675 and 600?
